Now do you drink this before a straight razor shave or afterwards?

Before, during after and in between

Life is too short to care when, only that you do!

I would be afraid that if I did before and during, I might even shorten a short life.

Thanks for the recommendation, that sounds like it would be about perfect. And $45 or so seems to be the going rate here which isn't bad for single malt. Ill have to pick up a bottle on my next trip!

I don't like to recommend what I haven't tried, but in my searching I did come across "The Black Grouse". It is a blend of Islay scotches and should have some peat smoke. Keep in mind, I have a bottle, but haven't cracked it open so don't take my second-hand word for it. I think I paid <$30.

Depending on what cost is locally, Laphroaig 10 is a great peaty single malt. Usually ~$50. I really enjoy that one.

Sorry I am a little late posting!! Try the Macallan 12 year if it's in your budget. The Macallan is very easy to find and a very good single. It's one I like to recommend to people starting out with single malts. I have drank a lot of different single malts and Macallan makes good Whisky! If you would like something with a little more smoke try the Highland park 12, another good whisky that's easy to find. Good luck and enjoy.

Got a chance to try the quarter cask last night. It's very good. No wonder so many people here love it

It's funny, but I sometimes find myself rubbing my chin and thinking of having a shave after a dram...probably a REAL bad idea!
