I got a Borden bill from my Mom and Dad at Christmas time, so naturally I was seeking out another bottle of great Scotch. I'm in deep guys!! The Glenfarclas 17 was on my radar, but there was only 1 bottle within 200km of where I live. Over the holiday season, someone with the same mind set as me snatched it up. So, on to plan B.

Another rare bottle that I had been eyeing was the Port Charlotte, Scottish Barley from Bruichladdich. Again, only 1 bottle of this within a 200km distance, and it was only 15km away in Ktitchener, Ontario. So I made it mine, and I'm so glad I did!

The 40 ppm peat smoke it has, seems to be right in the area of what I like. A little different smoke than typical Islays. More of a Camp fire smoke, which I'm enjoying. Also, a little more fiery than I'm use to at 50% ABV. but it's sure not noticeable. I sipped 2 drams over the course of 3 hrs. last night while the kids slept, my wife was out, and I was in ultimate relaxation mode. Was drinking this neat, but next time I may try a splash of water with it.

If you're into Islay Scotches, and you can find this one, get it. You won't be disappointed.
