My go-to when I need a bit more moisture happening either wind-burn or when I'm back in canada is the Every Man Jack post shave. It does very well for me.

I've been wanting to try this. I see reviews online and it seems people either love it or hate it. Usually products like that end up being ones I really like. I saw it in either Walmart or Target. Wherever it was, there was a ton if it on the shelves. Now that I'm looking to try it, particularly the shave cream, it's nowhere to be found. If I ever run across it again I will surely pick it up.

    12 drops of glycerine
5-10 drops essential oil, flavor of your choice (I like lemon) - start with 5 drops then add a drop/day until you like it

Shake like a madman for 10-seconds; wait for foam to settle then top off with 91% unscented/undyed rubbing alcohol. Shake before using. A bottle lasts 8-10 months and, at $2.00/bottle, it's darn cheap and very nice on the skin as antiseptic-conditioner.
Going to throw my own homegrown into the mix. Not just an economical solution, but the best AS balm I've ever put on my face:
3 tablespoons Aloe n Lidocaine gel
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    2-3 drops lanolin
2-3 drops eucalyptus oil (I like the scent of eucalyptus. You can substitute lavender, rose oil, whatever you like...)
While mixing, Witch Hazel is added until proper consistency, about like moisturizing lotion)

    Try it, seriously.
!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.

I suffer from wicked rosacea (damn my northern-European lineage) compounded by acne, and my skin dries out easily too. Anything that dries skin causes mine to overproduce oils, and moisterizers compound the oil-production issue.

What I have found that works really well for me as an aftershave (it's been more-or-less mentioned already) is a few drops of glycerin and witch hazel in my hand, rub together, rub into skin. Follow up with a light application of a little more witch haze. My skin has stopped drying out so quickly, and oil production has evened out such that I can wash my face mornings and evenings only without having beads of oil appearing after a few hours.

Sometimes, just for fun, I add even parts rum and witch hazel just to mix things up.

I use aveeno. No scent. Not greasy. Under $10 almost everywhere and doesn't a real nice job on a not so perfect shave

I noticed Dove has a new Post-Shave balm out so I decided to try it. Great stuff. Available at any supermarket for about $6 a bottle. Moisturizes nicely and smells really good too.

1/2 beeswax and 1/2 mineral oil. Mix in a double boiler and absolutely avoid flames.

I have extremely sensitive skin, and to date, that combination (use food or cosmetic grade mineral oil) has alleviated every single thing that causes me problems. Either cracked hands in the winter, dryness, razorburn, etc.

Costs about $10 a quart to make. A quart will probably last a decade, too. No stink, no extra stuff in it, just oil and wax - apply it very thin. It doesn't come off on things, it's not shiny and it lasts for a very long time.

(i get non-pesticide beeswax off of ebay for about $6 a pound).

the combination of oil and wax also makes a very good non-drying long-term rust protectant.
