I add a few drops to all my creams now, really makes a great lather. Been thinking about adding lanolin to the mix and maybe another emolient, maybe dimethicone. Really want to get a thick creamy lather that softens those whiskers.

I use it in all my shaving soaps now. Even the high glycerine sopes.

I use glycerin as a pre-shave (apply when the beard is wet) and to make uberlather. It improves the quality of the shave and lather.

Interesting that you apply it as a preshave. Do you just rub it on like a preshave oil? Do you add it to your lather as well or do you just lather over the face to get an Uberlather. My beard is like steel wires and I use glycerin in making my Uberlather. Using it as a preshave is something I will try. Hopefully it will soften my beard significantly.

I've applied it twice as a preshave after scrub and hot water and it seems to have a positive effect.

I add 5-6 drops to my soaps and creams, every time - it makes great, rich lather.

Glycerin is great for shaving! Leaves you face smooth, soft and moisturized.

I add some glycerin to a dollop of Kaloderma in my lathering mug. Before using the lathering mug I load the brush with some Williams without making it lather. Lather it all together in the lathering mug adding some water and apply to my face that has had glycerin rubbed into it. Gives a nice smooth comfortable. Is it better than cream alone? Hard to say for a beginner but sure makes a nice ritual if nothing else.

I do find that some soaps benefit from a few drops, both in lather quality, and in face care.
