    Default Manliness

If you want a true man's scent try old spice. It's smells good, and it's cheap. Women like it plus it's tradition. If you're grandpa didn't use it you wouldn't be here. One alternative is the manliest liquid on the planet, hot sauce. It would probably burn, but you would smell like a man.

Because of this, I need an aftershave that has a really manly smell. The only ones I can smell (aka the only ones at target) dnt smell all that great. Any suggestions?

I dnt care if its alcohol based or not, just the smell and that it will soothe razor burn.
Hoppes gun cleaning solvent :-). Seriously though, the manliest aftershave is one that has no lingering smell. Straight alcohol if you want the burn, unscented witch hazel if you want water based one.

He served in World War 2 (manly), he wears a hat (manly), smokes Lucky Strikes (manly), has 3 martini lunches during the work week (manly), and drinks martinis and rye, especially at work. (manly, manly, MANLY!). He also has affairs (i guess it was considered manly back then), is a raging chauvanist ( is that still considered manly?), and thinks Greenwich Village is "Too much 'art' for me" (definatley still manly).

If you like Clubman, that's a winner as far as my manliness scale goes. So is Dominica Bay Rum. Anything that's really vintage scores well on the manliness scale. Splashes would be more manly than balms. (various) woods, vanilla, tobacco, and musk are manly scents. Try something that emphasize those. I like C.O. Bigelow Black from bath and body works. Its woody with musk and vanilla, even though its not a splash.
If we are letting a Hollywood creation define manly, we are in deep trouble here.

Nooooo Not Straight Alcohol it is horrible for your skin. Manly or not. If you want to help razor burn on the cheap try Thayers Aftershave.

I really enjoy the Santa Maria Novella after shave in both sandalwood and lavender--both classic scents and a wonderful product. So, I would definitely characterize this after shave as "manly," as it has stood the test of time and simply works wonders on we that shave our faces!

    1) Alcohol is no worse for your skin than any high alcohol content aftershave.
    2) Real men don't care about how soft their skin is.

No personal offence intended sir, but lavender aftershave is about as manly as a pink satin dress.

I repeat my original preference for Trumpers Spanish leather, failing that, didn't the cowboys out west way back when, use horse ****?? Now that's what I call manly.
