Glen is a great guy and will treat it right. I have never used a non-vintage blade, though one I found had never been used before so it was sorta new. Vintage blades are great.

Now the second W&B, superb, have one exactly like that, spike point, no FBU markings, same tang stamp, with the thumb notch, I haven't seen many of those. Did mine in a blended honey / dark horn....what size is that beauty??....gorgeous blade, the first one get's you in the Club, the second one get's you VIP seating as far as I'm concerned...

    Thanks Phrank!

I've only ever seen one other one like it posted before (yours excluded). I'd love to know more about it. I know it was made sometime between the 1870 and 1891, but other than that I've got nothing.

Right now, the blade measures 15/16". I'm not sure if the years of honing wore it down from a full 8/8 or not. When I found it in the wild it looked like this:

I had Nathan Zowada do the restore for me. We had to chop about 3/16 off the toe to remove the nick, but it's still plenty big. :-) I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go for the scales other than horn, and but I really like the honey horn he selected. It's got that great, natural material feel, and the semi-translucent look is super sexy when the razor is closed. :-)

The story I heard, which is probably just that, a story, was that these were a small line meant to be personalized razors, etched or stamped somehow, but alas, with these old beauties it's probably just a legend, but yours is a duplicate of mine.

The one I was very lucky to get is in minty, mint condition, a full 9/8 of bliss....that one, and it's brother the spike point, Celebrated FBU 9/8 I have are my two favorite razors.....I won't even ask to pry that smokin' razor from your collection!

    My collection of Butchers.
With the exception of the India Steel, all restored by me over the last three years learning this fine pursuit.
