Thats my Bengall, T R Cadman&sons, its about 4/8, it was pretty rough when I got it (part of a job lot)

I was making scales for another razors trying something different and anyway it didnt work and they where too short for all my other razors, this was the only one it would fit so I suited it up and honed it for me,
I have to say I was surprised by how good a shaver this is (It was also the first razor I honed for myself)

Is that measured from the very back of spine or from the widest point of spine? Believe should be taken from widest point of spine.

Ive never measured it, its just how it looks to me hence the "about" lol,
As I restored it for me and it shaves great exact measurements dont matter too much just the shave.

Sorry alpla question was meant for poster before you. (Maladroit). Thought had replied to his post rather than to thread. My fault. Not the best with computers. Scales look sweet by the way.

Here is my newly purchased Bengall. Still trying to gather some info on this piece. Any help w/ age and identifying if this was altered or just unique. One of the Bengall posted at the beginning of the club shares the stamp but I didn't see any others.Name: $_57 (2).jpg

Saw that. Interesting. I wondered if it had been reshaped or if it was a corn razor. Seems short for the scales. The tang seems super-long as well. Oh well, someone liked it enough to hone it a lot. Hope it shaves well!

No, seriously, I have not ever seen a razor like it. Of course, around here, we are always seeing things which we have not seen before. I am curious as to the blade width and the distance between the top pin and the heel, IE, the length of the tang. Also, where does the blade sit in respect to the wedge end. As they get this old, the scales may or may not have been replaced. That is ivory, no doubt. Unusual and quite eye-catching. Certain to be a stiffer wedge.
My comments were more curiosity than anything. More pics as you receive?

So, cutest and one of the prettiest blades I have ever seen. I am confused as to what I feel about this thing...I think I am going to hone her and try it out and see. Please see the pictures below and let me know what all of you think. Now that I know what one is I am thinking corn razor. I say this smiling and laughing in good humor, $65 for a bunion blade. I wear a full beard so maybe this tiny thing will do better for my neck line which is the only area I shave anyways. I cannot tell if it is ivory or not. I do not own any ivory pieces so if it is it would be my first.

Oh I am certain it is ivory. It is pretty cool. Corn razors are usually much more diminutive. I think it may have been made that way, looong tang and short blade. Hone her up! Should be just the ticket for that neckline and getting up close!
