Here is one of my Rolls Razor kits along with 2 very rare pieces, a new hone & a new strop!
As you can see, there is a slot in one side to store the handle.
I got lucky & found this new hone & new strop on eBay last year. Something you just don't see everyday...............

The fitted strop and hone look to be in good condition, are you planning on replacing them with the new finds (well done by the way that's a super lot) or will you keep the new as stand by? I have managed through carelessness to break the metal holding tabs on one of mine while replacing a hone and I wont be rushing to repeat the performance. Take care if you're undertaking that job.

Bayamontate recently hooked me up with a great-shaving blade and some fine advise toward honing them. He related that the hone side is pretty useless as compared to hand-honing.
An awesome job he did. I hope I can get as good as I attempt!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 146I found that on my rolls when you are using the rolls hone, that the blade is slightly above the hone and strop. I add a piece of tape when honing and set the bevel lightly on my DMT to get started then go thru a normal Norton progression and finish on a 12k Naniwa and strop on the rolls strop. So far this has been a winning system for me. Gives a great shave and is a fun contraption!

I picked up a nice Rolls off the electric e-bay machine a couple weeks ago. It is the "Traveler" model and came with an outer carrying case covered in what looks like faux ostrich skin. The stone and strop are both in excellent condition and it came with two spare blades, one still in the original paper wrapping. So tonight I decided to give it a spin. I did 50 strokes on the stone and 50 on the strop and got to shaving.
I was not really expecting much and even stropped up one of my straights to be ready to take over when needed. It was not needed. The Rolls, honed and stropped the way it was designed, did a very nice three pass shave, easily the equal of what I get with my straights. This thing is pretty neat.Braz

Thanked: 19Late to the party. A friend gave me a Rolls Razor over the holiday. It was her fathers. I'd never heard of them, and it took some research to even figure out what exactly I had in my hands. It looks to be in very good condition, with a nice extra little box with a second blade, apparently unused. The only thing is the strop. It seems to be indented or pressed out of shape. It is not flat. Any idea where I can get a replacement strop?

Be very careful when you put everything away back in the box. It usually is the hone that is cracked from the handle and blades being put away wrong. I can't remember where off hand but I have seen NOS strops or repops somewhere....
My thoughts would be to keep an eye out for another with a cracked hone and/or a rough case and use that strop. There are plenty of them out there but I have noticed the prices rising at least in my area.

You could pry the leather out and use it as a template to cut a new piece and glue it in.
Could be that old strop you accidentally cut a while back will donate?
IMO, the hone side is pretty useless.
No other way to strop them other than in the box, AFAIK.
