That means a lot, Glen!
I thought it was cool as I did it!
Wish I had not undone it now. It could come back into vogue!!
Besides, I unpinned it and sent out for some custom carbon fiber scales (trend?) and never saw it again!Last edited by sharptonn; 11-12-2013 at 07:53 PM.

Thanked: 13245There is no rule against using what is available, you made it work out, you liked it and it was yours...

We have a huge vibrant community that has all kinds of people with different views. When you mix users with collectors, you get people who like them as period antiques, people who like hotrodding, and in between. I think with a lot of other antiques you don't have as large a base of users (especially in the younger age range). I have a lot of different views on this, and they have changed over time personally.
For me, I haven't done a custom-looking rescale in quite a while. I've just grown so latched on to the aesthetics of the period that I strive to approach it from a craftsman's angle, trying to do my best to duplicate what things would have originally looked like. And sometimes I like to go crazy and do custom designs, but with authentic materials and using historical aesthetic as a guide.
