Thanked: 2Hey Seraph.
Just to get this out of the way. I think Mr.Parko's and Stamps222's price is quite reasonable. And I still hope you can post what you feel are the differences between all these razors and why you like the 200 more than 100 and the DA 74.
However, the $8 you are talking about are for the 100 and excludes the shipping. The 200 Mr.Parko sells for over $20 when you figure in the shipping. Still very reasonable just not quite the same thing. No?
As for the initial outlay. I think a deposit can be requested from anyone interested in the razor. Say $4 per razor or something like that. That will tell the group buyer that the person is in fact interested, and the order can be placed based on the number of deposits. What do you think?
The biggest issue will be how to deal with the overrun. Say if 211 razors are wanted, only 200 can be ordered. So 11 orders will no tbe fulfilled and the deposits will have to be refunded. Otherwise ordering 300 will leave the group buyer with 89 extra razors.

Thanked: 14I don't think you will have a problem with overruns. Generally, the manufacturers here are only concerned with minimums. You could order 101 and it would still be ok. I don't think there is a machine stamping out 100 at one time, so it shouldn't be an issue. Maybe I am wrong, but in 6 years of sourcing, the only time I have found that to be a problem is when dealing with bolts of fabrics because of yarn and such being in standard lengths. Pens, magnets, patches, hats, socks, clothes etc are no problem as long as you meet the minimums.

Thanked: 735Perhaps.
But I can tell you they come in one big box with ten little boxes inside each containing 10 razors. To get an odd number, they'd have to bust open the box of 100. Anyhow, I think a quantity of 100 would probably be sufficient.
Rudy, if you are going to go for the group buy, my hat is off to you. You're a better man than I, Gunga-din!

Thanked: 735This is what I think of the 200
And here are a couple pics of the 300.
I don't actually have a 100.

Thanked: 14You could be right. I am not sure, but I would imagine that it is not too difficult to get different size cardboard boxes. I can't imagine them turning down an extra 20 or so razors, because someone wanted 116 vs increasing the order to 200, or just ordering the minimum. Given the fact that they could sell 100 or 120 (ten razors per small box), I would think they would go for the extra quantity, but again, I have never attempted to order from them, so I could be wrong.

Thanked: 2I think you have me confused with gdaddy who is doing the actual group buy.
I know, I know all of us noobs look the same.
I'm still curious what exactly are the differences between all of these models. Mr.Parko is selling 5 models and 4 of them have the same price. And the razor Stamps is selling is only a dollar more. Me-no-understand.

I'd be curious to hone some. I want to see what these are like out of the box, what it's like to hone them, and what they shave like.
It is unclear to me if there will be a group by, who is organizing, and whether or not group buys are permitted by forum rules, but if anyone has an unhoned GD or two, please get in touch with me.

Hi holli4pirating, I'm in the preliminary stages of pricing, availability, shipping and any applicable fees. If feasible I might just buy them upfront myself and distribute at cost and small domestic handling fee for boxes tape etc. It is in the very preliminary stages. When it gets closer to the done deal stage I will seek input from senior members and moderators in how to fairly distribute and so forth. As of right now we are still in communication with the manufacturer. They are a lot of work to get shave ready according to the grind marks on mine, but it is quality metal that will take an edge.
