Thanked: 522UGLY.....I think it's an ugly situation when a man finds a razor that he falls in love with and he can't afford to pay the price. That's UGLY !!!

I don't really care that much as long as it works like it should. At this point in my life, I'm willing to love an ugly razor.
But, if given the choice, I don't really care for round points. And the wider the blade is, the uglier they seem. It's not so bad on my 4/8, but a 6/8 just looks like a giant metal popsicle stick to me.
I don't really care for wood scales, unless it's a particularly interesting wood, and it's very well polished and coated. But what's infinitely worse to me is imitation wood, which of course doesn't fool you into thinking it's wood for even a second. That's just a sin. Seriously, who would do that?
I don't like the razors that look like woodworking tools either. I've seen a couple of these, with weirdly angled blades and neon orange scales and the like. Someone said something about razors that look like pocket knives. I don't like these either, but the kind I'm thinking of look like hinged box cutters.
I'm gunna get shot for this, but I don't really like Damascus either. It's not that I think it's ugly, but something about the color and design of the steel makes it look... dull. I know this isn't the case, but it just doesn't look like something used for shaving to me.
So there's my little rant.

For what ever reason I don't like barber notches........ I like spikes, spanish, right now I'm looking for a french/irish, I have one round that is ok I guess.
Oh and NO riverboat scales for me.....

I don't like barbers notches that look like they were added as an afterthought, you know the ones where a square point has a semi-circle cut into it, and it looks like someone was just trying to make a mundane blade more desireable. A proper Barber's notch should have the toe near the blade extend farther than the toe near the spine. I also don't like wierd shape scales in oddball colors.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but mirror finish puts me off. I like a satin look to a blade (or patina on an old one), and even some grind marks on there, so it looks like steel. A mirror finish make me feel like the razor is chrome plated, and it feels cheap to me.
Also, I'm not a fan of "rough" wood scales. Wood finished in a thick coat of poly, that is smooth and glossy, is nice, but without that the dull, rough look just doesn't do it for me most of the time.

Thanked: 31def not a fan of a round point even though my first straight was a round point......and the prices on some of these new razors can get pretty ugly pretty fast. i just cant pull the trigger and spend 200$+ on a razor....im not a big fan of things being rescaled if they are not broken i like original even if it has some flaws
