Now I've never owned a custom razor, and I'm pretty new at this whole thing... but what keeps the razor from coming out the other end of the scales on something like this? The spine width? A 'Stopper'? a hidden pin?...

I have a plain Dovo with the black plastic handle and there is a plastic 'stopper' in the scales to keep the blade from closing too far and coming out the other side of the scales... but I haven't seen any photos of the inside of the scales of these custom razors..

    Thanks

    Hey Darc,

When the scales are made, the width of the end wedge is sized so the scales provide a seat for the sides of the razor. In the restoration vids & instruction, its suggested to start out w/ a wedge width of 1/2 the size of the spine thickness.

    Thanks
The width of the blade toward the spine. Very stable! It won't expose the edge.

    Regards,

    Howard

Well, I'll jump back in. I received word from Robert, last week that my razor was ready. I know everyone is hungry to try and guess when their razor might be ready without bugging Robert, too much. I got my razor in the mail, yesterday. It's number 106, I ordered 12/26/2012. I will try to post a picture of mine, at some point, although we all know what they look like, lol. It really is a handsome razor. Robert has done an outstanding job, in my opinion. I'll be shaving with it tonight...

So.... I only had this one coffee on this Monday morning, and I'm still pretty much asleep and trying to get some work done at the office... and I get this call from a US number. The guy on the other end tells me (at least that's what my half-asleep french-Canadian brain understood) that my SRP LE Ranger is ready... what? I didn't order a pick-up. You must have the wrong guy... but he's got the right name and right phone number, this must be a prank. Then he repeats it, "didn't you order an SRP LE razor?". Wait, did you say razor!? That's when the caffeine kicked-in all at once and the 10-year-old boy on Christmas morning woke up.

I didn't ask for the number, just to keep the surprise until I open my early Christmas present, but I ordered mid-January.

Big thanks to Mr Williams and everyone who made this possible. I can't wait to shave with this beauty!
