    Update #1:
    Just shaved with this razor honed with the Zowada method. All I can say is wow. NOW its really smooth AND sharp, and no weepers. Shaved right off the hone, no stropping or paste. I think I've found the formula for this razor and will be using this method from now on. No more testing . When I get my calipers I'll measure everything out to see if I can make sense of why the micro bevel with 3 layers of tape makes such an huge difference.

    More on the Zowada method.. I've not come across this.

    Is that what Tim lists on his website for maintaining Damascus razors?
    From my conversations with Robert, he doesn't use tape on the initial hone.

    Are you saying that Robert told you he has reached 200 ? If so it is all over but the shouting for them that got 'em and the crying for them that didn't.
