Right now my two favourites are my 11/16 C.V. Heljestrand No. 23 quarter grind which I've had for about a year now and my restored 6/8 Geneva Cutlery 23 full hollow (incidentally both are 23's). I love the restore I did on the Geneva, but the main reason why they are favourites is because of the edges I put on, well, that and that they are both quite hefty (the Geneva for a full hollow, the Heljestrand came in and is still in stainless steel scales, giving it the weight of a large wedge).
But I have quite a few others which are also quite favoured.

Boker red injun round point. The thin blade gives awesome feedback.. Second is my vintage Timor for the same reasons. And I own some nice blades... DDs Wacker, Otto,Engels Dovo.. And otthers.. Those two come tonthe head of the pack because of thier thin round blades.

Thanked: 22One of my favorites is a J. Morton. "Marked J. Morton" "Late Macdaniel" on the left side of tang, and "343 Oxford St." on the right. This razor was manufactuered about 1884, is 2-1/4"X 5/8". It has a little bow to the spine and an unusual light inverted round point, where the toe forms a slightly upturned hook. Has original ivory scales. One of favorites because of the baby butt smooth shave, while manuvering easily around my beard. But also because I love the history of old things. Macdaniel is known to have been a razor maker at 343 Oxford St. in the 1860's. And known to have used the upturned hook on the toe. I and several other enthusiasts are only aware of two razors, both from a 7 day set, by J. Morton at the same addess, at a later date. And J. Morton is known to have made other, full size razors, from a Cheapside address. Begs to imply that Morton was an aprentice for Macdaniel. Just love the old razors,

I have 8 razors, 7 are shave ready (I just got the 8th, and it needs a little polishing and honing). The 7 are all excellent shavers that can leave my face sticky smooth, and I favor them all the same, really. Some are round point, some square point, and they range from singing hollows to near wedge, and 5/8 to 9/8, wood and horn scales, from the U.S., France, England, and Germany. Yup, they are all, collectively, my favorite.

Re: Favorite razors-opinions and why
I agree but we all know deep down in our hearts there is 1 razor that gave us the best (most comfortable, and closest) shave ever. Thats the 1 im talking about the one that for some reason you either use it more than the others and dont know why, or dont use it as much (praying it'll last you the rest of your life and your sons too).
Thank you,
Swerve

When you do try an old US made, try a GENCO fluid steel. They are wonderfull razors and HOLD an edge. Mine in fact I would say is capable of bieng sharper than my,run of the mill DOVO 5/8 best full hollow. Dont get me wrong im not dissatisfied in any way by Dovo but only spent 22 bucks (on E-bay) for my verry slightly pitted (can only be seen under 30x loupe) genco as opposed to 90 bucks for dovo. And way better shaver. I restored it myself and also to make shure it wasnt the dovos edge I honed both razors and then reshaved with both and , well all I gotta say is GENCO
Thank you,
