Thank you Lynn for your reply and for posting the link of your trip to Italy which I read and commented. Not to mention, what a pleasure to see the pictures of the razor the Mastro gave to you. Simply "WOW"!
In case you are planning to come back to Italy and visit my wonderful city as well as visiting the Mastro's bottega, please let me know: I will bring nice wines and, yes, let the party begin! It would be a tremendous pleasure to meet you all and share the same passions. I am sure I will have a lot to learn and understand.

If you don't mind me asking, how much is this costing you?

I'd love to have a custom made razor but I fear that my bank account would explode, though I could be pleasantly mistaken!

I don't mind, of course! I will talk about costs as soon as I have the razor in my hands and therefore I exactly know how much I will paid for it.
However, no matter the price, it will be a piece of art and, having seen how much work the Mastro put it his razors, I guess it is normal there is a price for it. Not only the raw materials, but the mastery as well.

I know, I know, I know! I too have spent soooooo much time on that website! See what happened!

Just a quick update. As of today, I am still waiting for the razor to be completed. This is what I was planned, of course. I told Mastro Livi that in case he could not make it within the end of April, he could make that within the half of May, and I guess this is going to be the case.
I am about to leave today and I will be traveling because of my job, like I always do. I plan to be back in my beloved city around the half of May and, I guess, in the meantime I will receive a call from Mastro saying my razor is finally completed.

Gentlemen, the magnificent day has finally come!
I just received a phone call from Mastro Livi in person and he told me the straight razor he made for me is waiting for me in his "bottega".
This afternoon I will therefore go there and finally I will hold in my hands MY Mastro Livi razor. Mastro Livi has commented the razor is beautiful and the buckeye burl scales look like shiny marble.
Can't wait this afternoon to go there and pick my new straight razor up!
Of course, I will make sure to have a camera with me and take some pictures!
