Post Week of September 12 SOTD - Friday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Truffit & Hill
Razor: 6/8" C.V. Heljestrand "Royal Kindal", Full Hollow, Round point
Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger, Olive handle
Überlather: AOS Lavender Shave Creme + Mama Bear's Lilac & Patchouli Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Post-shave: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
Cologne: Truffit & Hill Spanish Leather
Result: This Helje is a wonderful blade. This baby used to be a 6/8" round point, until ~2 months ago when I changed its fate...You see, the edge wasn't quite there, so I "stupidly" decided to set the bevel on this thing...well, to make a long story short, it turned into a 5/8"-11/16", French point...Total makeover . But boy, in my stupid, non-deliberate attempt to set the bevel on this thing, I learned all there is to know about bevels. So, my take home lesson (especially to newbies out there that want to learn to hone): That's why it is a good idea to have a practice blade, maybe even several. Every time I pick this blade up, my heart sinks knowing full well what I did to it. At the end, this beauty took on a very keen and smooth edge. Despite my wronging it, she did not let me down...Very smooth shave today.

This is my SOTD for the entire week thus far as I have been travelling since Monday and was sick on Sunday. This is my travel kit and it gets used every day. It really lets me relax while on the road. I haven't had a chance to go through all the posts yet, but from what I have seen, it looks like there are some great pics and shaves happening out there. Keep them coming, going home today...WOOOOHOOOOHHHH!

The cigar is to end out the week and is a Alec Bradley "Tempus". The pic is from my macbook pro camera and it appears to have mirror imaged everything (sorry!). Have a great day gentlemen!
Hey Glenn...I hope you have recovered since Sunday . Welcome back home buddy

I'm feeling great again. I'm looking at the SOTD's while sitting in the Charlotte, NC airport waiting for the last leg of my flight home. Thanks for the warm wishes! Glad to be home (well...almost home)
