Joe,
Now I am convinced that you are just teasing us with that gorgeous bladeof yours.
Nice DE...I really like this Merkur
Great location, great background, great hardware and great software
Greg,
It's great to see you doing well (regardless of hardware). Forget about the shave, you need to come back home fast before the tension between the south and north gets crazy. Referendum there is due Jan 9 and anything can happen between now and then.
Be safe buddy and it's great to hear from you

Soap: Henks Scheerzeep Bay Rum
AS: Island Bay Rum
Strops: Neil Miller

This blade is so good, I didn´t think anything special for this one when I found her (nice ivory scales, yes, but nothing special). It´s now one of my top shavers. I got a close, very close, shave today

Fall is in the air
Good morning, If the neighbors had any lingering doubts as to my sanity I'm quite sure all are removed taking a picture of a razor at 8:30 AM on a Sunday outside 39 degrees?
Anyway here goes:
Preshave: Hot towel
Brush: Burma Shave Boar
Soap: Williams
Razor: DOVO white bone Bismark
ASB: Polo Blue
Cologne: Polo Blue
The Williams soap and the boar brush I picked up at a local store a year ago its what started my interest in STR8 shaving remembering my dads old shave mug and brush although he used a DE. Enough rambling Great Shave the DOVO gives a nice smooth comfortable effort. Have a great day everyone.

Hey Metalfab! Your a Williams/boars hair fiend as well? I am still at that 5 years later! A very BIG welcome PETO! Great job!
Keep the Faith! I am hitting the "thanks button" now.....OH! What? it's gone! NOW instead of thanks we do rambling messages. I put a post it note with "thanks!" on my monitor. I have clicked on it several times this AM! Not the same though. ThanksLast edited by sharptonn; 11-14-2010 at 04:40 PM.

Brrrr....I can feel it in my bones just reading about it. Glad it's over and that's why I prefer living in California
. Love the blade Chris.
Excellent and congrats Bill. The La Veinette is a great piece of stone. Did you use the dilucot or unicot method?
Grea blade and great choice...Go Aggies (although I din't have time to watch football...I get my summary from you here)
You'll get used to it...it is a little different . Sham (from what I have heard) is praised for his edges. So, it is most probably technique and not blade.
Love the camera...Keep it...it is an antique. I have inherited two antiques from grandpa myself: (1) a Pentaflex (very very old...with 2 lenses and tripod and case), and (2) a first generation Hasselblad (amazing camera...also very old). My dad wants them adn I wouldn't give it. THEY'RE MINE, I TELL YOU...MINE
Is that a pict of grandpa and grandma? Love it too. Probably taken with the Polaroid.
Welcome to SRP and this forum Niubi. Great to have you here. Way to make a splash on your first/second post.

It is 100% me to blame, Sham has honed many of my blades and I LOVE his work
. Just a different "feel" to get used to.
Yep, that's Grandma & Grandpa. Grandpa passed away about 16 years ago...I miss him everyday. Grandma lives only 10 minutes away and I see her often.
I don't think I could even think about selling it, some things truly are pricelessLast edited by sharp; 11-14-2010 at 07:29 PM.
