Wed. SOTD
No Japanese Razor yet but I do have some blades-
Pre: Hot shower
SC: CF Sandelwood
Brush: Rooney
Razor: Rooney DE
Blades: Next best thing to a str8 Feather Hi-Stainless
AS: Clubman
These Feather blades clean off the stubble with no problem, best DE blades I've ever used, IMHO.
We're halfway through the week its been spectacular so far can"t wait to see how this winds up.
Good shaving gents,
Jim
Yes and I neglected to also say that my thoughts thru the day are with the people of Japan. They will regain control and rebound (lets hope soon) for they are Japanese.Last edited by metalfab; 03-16-2011 at 11:01 PM. Reason: Add a thought

This is only the second time I used this blade since I did the progression on the stones many months ago. It is a heavy razor and I really had avoided it due to the weight. I did not recall if I liked the shave last time, just the fact that it was too heavy.
I decided to use it to show support for the Japanese people who are, as we are all aware, really having a tough time. I know it is a small gesture but it was to show they are constantly on my mind and will be until they are back on their feet and those Nukes are shut down safely.
My shave was flawless. I am thankful in my own spiritual way and my prayers continue to be with the good people of Japan.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Nice Wacker Bruno
Well done Monroe and way to go Bill. That's what makes this forum extra special. BTW: I think the Manaslu is 7/8", not 6/8" (at least, that what I read on mine)
Nice Hayashi Diamond John
Andy, This is just perfect. I love it. We will look forward to drooling over that Kamisori of yours when she's ready.
Love that Wosty Bruce. We can call it the "Pipe-sori" to make it Japanese, LOL.
She's a beauty Glenn. Just curious what your honing regimen is with these beasts? what kind of ratio do you keep with the omote:ura, etc?
Lynn,
All 7 in one evening/day?!!? See? That's why you are THE Honemeister...A wanna be like me can only dream about reaching half that in 7 days, LOL
You do need two Mark. A western style Japanese (Toyo Scheon Burg or Manaslu) and a Kamisori style.
Lovely shot (and colors) Tesite
Finally broke down and got the B&B soap, eh, LOL?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Doug. Have a fabulous dinner. And a nice shave with a beautiful blade.
Thanks Rene
Gulp...Ahhhhhh. Kanpai my friend (burp!...Oooops, excuse me)
Way to go Jim...Love the handle on that razor. Well done
Don't forget Rene's Sake
Love your shave gear Frank. Nicely done
Amen brother. Well said and nice razor.
You bet José. What's more, it fuels the RAD by identifying gaps we have in our collections. I bet everyone has made a list of blades they need to be getting in the near future, LOL...I know I have. God: this is a very dangerous SOTD theme.

Thanked: 2516Thanks Robert! The Wosty is about as close to a Japanese razor as I can get. LOL (I don't have anything close) I didn't remember the theme week until the DD day (don't have one of those either) so I'm totally off track right now. Maybe I'll finally get into step in the remainder of the week. LOL
