Sorry boys, this is as close to a Kamisori as I've got (yet, Ill have one one day). I neglect this razor a little, it has its own box and so does not sit in the display case with all the rest and I sometimes forget to use it.
I really enjoyed tonights shave, I love the feel of this razor in the hand, and it delivered a great smooth fresh shave.
I'm loving all the great posts this work guys, keep up the good work

    Feather Blade/Merkur slant/VDH Soap/Turkish horsehair brush/Masters Bay Rum

Sadly, as I take a moment to reflect on the tragedy that has struck Japan. I have a silent shave. The only Japanese steel I own are feathers. Two gentle passes, WTG and ATG yielded a remarkable BBS shave.

Gentlemen, as always wonderful pictures. And your Japanese Razors are inspiring.

My thoughts & Prayers continue to be with the people of Japan (Especially each of your with friends & Loved ones there).

    Prep:Hot Shower
Brush:TGN 24mm Super Silvertip in Crimson Swirl
    Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
    Cream:CarrieM's BRV
Razor: IWASAKI KAMISORI 1- CHOU GAKE
    After shave: AOS Sandalwood
    EDT: L'Occitane Vetyver

    The Razor

The Razor's home (the “Table” has rare earth magnets underneath the red leather to keep the razor held securely in place. The image in the background is from Steve Higgs

Result: Today is my first ever Kamisori shave. I've been wanting a Kamisori for quite some time and seeing this theme coming provided the perfect excuse to get one. I was amazed how easy this things was to shave with (I had actually had a new-b fear about this shave). I did 2 passes and I'm quite smooth (I'd call it a DFS). There are a few angles I need to figure out, but for the most part, a very easy and enjoyable shave

    Have a great Wednesday gentlemen!

Such a lot of excellent equipment. It would be nice we had a "Thanks"-button again!
