Post Week of April 24 SOTD - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 23mm Simpson "Chubby #1", 2-band, Super Badger
Maxterpiece: 7/8" Geo. Wostenholm "I•XL Celebrated", 1/2 Hollow Ground, Barber's Notch (Black G10)
Strop: 55/65 laps (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Cyril Salter "French Vetiver" Shave Creme + SRD "Vetiver" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Irish Moos AS
    Cologne: Creed Original Vetiver EdC
Results: The Wosty IXL was one of my Maxterpieces I hadn't used in awhile...so, today was the perfect opportunity to bring her out for a spin. The Vetiver combo of the SRD and the Cyril was truly exceptional!!! And the scent? Out of this world . My wife was hanging out around the den just to enjoy the scent emanating from this wholesome and creamy überlicious lather; a pea size amount of the creme + a "double loading" of the soap produced enough for this entire forum. I wish everyone were here to enjoy it, but oh well, unless the SRP developers can figure out a way to make transference a reality trough the network, you'll just have to take my word for it . Then came the Pièce de résistance, i.e., the Wosty . This beauty had everything going for her; brains and brawn. She wiped the whiskers like yesterdays old news. Super shave, super feeling, and a super smooth face . Let's see what today has in store for me. Whatever it is, I am ready for it.

Have a FABULOUS Thursday gentlemen .

Well...I did send it your way, but the post office had "Undeliverable" Address and sent it back with a note warning me NOT to send Maxterpieces to Buddelized neighborhoods, LOL.

    Default Jatco Supershave

This one will go to a new owner today, sadly. It is a truly remarkable shaver! I just had to run it this morning. One of the smoothest razors I have ever held to my face. Zero irritation and super comfortable! I will miss it.
The posts are awesome as always, Gentlemen. Thanks!!!!

You get a good shave, we are with you. Next time we have a little get together in Northern NJ, stop by.

    Seeing double (another honing test):

    SRP:

Gebr. Lützenkirchen "Seehund" 5/8; No-name "Eishärtung" 5/8; Semogue 2009 LE; soap sample from Artisan; Musgo Real classic aftershave.

Not a lot to choose between the two razors, both tidily made comparatively recent Solingens. The Seehunds seem to be cropping up all over the place at the moment, so unless it's the same one doing the rounds somebody must have found a NOS cache. I'm guessing that the stainless is a Tuckmar because that's what it said on the plastic sleeve it arrived in ; the pinning looks very like Dovo's recent style. Of the two, this feels more solid and pleases my eyes more, so if there was any question of hanging on to one of them (not a chance!), it would be this one. Both shave nicely enough.

Two more razors came in the post yesterday, which I get to keep: cheers Mikael! I forgot to take pictures, but they'll put in an appearance tomorrow.
