Prep: Hot Shower, Baby Oil Gel
    Razor: C.V. Haljestrand #4
    Brush: Omega Boar
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum Sage and Cedar
AS: Alum Block, Nivea ASB, Skin Bracer AS
    Finish: English Leather Cologne
Results: Outstanding! If this razor gets any sharper my stubble will just fall out as soon as I look at the razor. Hard to believe this razor was a $5 Flea Market save.

The elitists may disagree but I've done it for years and can confirm that great shaves DO NOT require huge budgets. The KISS (Keep It Simple Shaving) applies here. Default Blind test

Yesterday i recieved my 3 razors back from Robert who was conducting a test. I will let Robert explain. So he honed them up without telling me how each was honed. Today was shave #1 of 3. I am doing a 2 pass shave,as this is how i judge my razors for sharpness and how close of a shave they provide. I will compair them to each other at the end. This one provided a smooth feel no irritation. I dont feel the Sharpness to be as high as it could.

    Razor: Weyer Schultze 5/8
    Strop: Ambrose cordovan 25/50
    Brush: Plisson #12 pur blaireau
    Lather: Dr. Selby + Lavanda
    Astringent: Alum
AS: Martin de Candre huile de coprah
    EdT: Czech&Speake Oxford&Cambridge
Summary: The "exotic" shaving soap is form Uruguay, the Dr. Selby easy gives cushioned, slick and comfortable lather. The lavender scent is fresh and spicy, as the leafs of the plant, I have paired Selby with the portuguese Lavanda athat is a bit warmer. The brush is the low-cost range of Plisson (if this is possible) and it's exfoliant and scratchy, better to use painting strokes than swirls in the face. The Martin de Candre aftershave is greasy, not very good for me.

    It works very well

Yes it was rusty, but I like the vintage look. It tells more about the history of this steel.
I paid 20 Euro for this razor!

    Hcintineo,
Welcome to SOTD. We don't make fun of people's shaves or gear. This is a civilized forum (for the most part, LOL). Great shave btw and can't beat $6 for a straight shave.

I'm very happy, and humbled, to be a part of this fine community!
    Birnando,
She's a beautiful blade indeed. +1 on the community remark and Cade ASB. It's an honor having you post your great gear (salivating). Thank you

Thank you Rene for volunteering to be part of this experiment. I will un-blind the test after you finish all of them. So far, so good. As long as the lack of sharpness didn't give you any pulls or problems.

Uberfabulous shot José. Beautiful blade and very interesting soap. Will it stand on its 2 feet if you didn't uber it with the Lavanda? I have some Oil of Copra coming my way too...will be curious to see how it is. Thanks for the report.

It's all about making do with what you have. Your college students days will hopefully pave the way for more prosperous times...At that time, we expect to see some of the rarest vintages there are in straight shaving. Again, welcome to the fold. It's great having you here...whatever your gear.

Robert, I think it don't need going Buddelized.
It looks like an old razor, that's it.
