I'm glad you finally got the BRO to work for you. I mainly use it now for überlather.
    For that, it is great!!
Birnando, for me the problem is to find a razor far from the awesomeness in this forum .... I am always

Happy Easter, everyone, and in particular to you Miguel: welcome aboard. I do indeed like your SOTD very much, Kent silvertip + Martin de Candre + Palmera sounds like a surefire recipe for success to me.

    Monday:

T.R. Cadman & Sons Bengall; Semogue 2009 LE; Nanny's Exotic soft soap; witch hazel; D.R. Harris Marlborough cologne.

Honing test. It seems I have a problem, because the razor bending goblins have been up to their tricks again. This one took ... well, let's just say it was more than one session. Anyway, once the bevel was set at last, the job was a breeze and the steel particularly nice to work with; the polishing was done on the greenish mystery hone in the picture.

Well, I must say that it's not for nothing that these blades have a high reputation, and if a straight one comes my way I'll hold on to it. As well as giving a very comfortable and clean shave, it felt as well balanced as any razor I've come across. A pleasantly surprised, happy camper today.

Wow! The lather had an incredible smell and the after shave and eau de toilette didn't disappoint either. Spicy scent, I think strong bergamot scent. I like it a lot.
T&H Trafalgar has strong cardamom tones. Really nice.

I like Mr. & Mrs. Roger Wabbit. The Bear family looks sharp and papa bear seems almost well shaven too, LOL.

Results: A fantastic shave. This razor was low on my list untill I found the right honing regimen for it. Now it is amongst my very best! Nothing wrong with a stainless steel razor.
    Birnando,
I really like your choice of hardware/software today. Well done. That Friodur rocks. The steel is very hard, but the proper bevel is set on her, she goes the extra mile. BTW: how do you like the Mdc Copra oil? Is it too oily on the skin? How about the scent? Enjoy your nice sunny day buddy.

The edge on this razor is just absolutely STUPID sharp. In fact this might just be as sharp as anything I've ever shaved with, including a shavette with a fresh blade. Funny thing is that repeated shaving doesn't seem to dull the edge at all in fact, it seems to get sharper the more I use it and strop it.
Nice Helje GI. I know what you mean by edge getting sharper with every use. I have a Novelty that does that too. Bizarre!!! but hey, who's complaining right, LOL?

    Mikael,
Congratulation is in order for your choice of hardware/software + in achieving this wonderful shave. Well done.

    Bill,
That's **Blasphemy***. PIF-ing one of the best glycerin-based soaps on the planet!!!! Glad it worked out though. Alone, this thing can easily whip up and uber that will give MdC a run for the money, LOL. If you ever decide to PIF it (which I hope you don't), put me on your list of beneficiaries.

This is another razor that has been sitting on the touch-up pile for a little while. I took it to the hones last night and tonight was very happy with the result. The 14 razor display case is now full, I'll have to hurry up and finish making the next one, there's plenty of razors on the to be restored pile.
Beautiful "Pet" Grant. You're fast becoming the multi-talented artist you were meant to be. Chef by day and restorer by night. Congratulations on filling up that display box. Can't wait to see what other projects you turn into works of art.

    Miguel,
First and foremost: WELCOME to SOTD. Great to see you here.
Second: I don't like this first shave. Really! I LOOOOOOVE it. Well done
Third: That Palerma is one heck of a looker. + can't go wrong the MdC as a soap

Wonderful Friodur Ben. Great finishing touch on her. And of course the brush and lather are a nice complement to the shave as well.

    Wowww Andy,
Sounds like your diligence paid off. Kudos for sticking with it. The rewards are great at the end. That stone looks interesting. It could be anything from an Escher to a Thuringian (I think)...Hard to say.

Post Week of April 24 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush (Rudy Vey): 26mm w/TGN Grade A Sivertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 7/8" Böker "Finest Silver Steel", Extra Hollow Ground, Round Point (Faux Ivory scales)
Strop: 50/65 laps (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Godrej "Menthol & Mist" Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
After Shave Balm: eShave "Almond" AS Balm
Results: This Böker hadn't seen much action lately (too many Maxterpieces to go through ), so today was her moment to come out and shine. And shine, she did . A MARVELOUS shave. Da Fat and Godrej were a heavenly mix to lather with and the Böker was an amazing steel to wipe the "Easter" whiskers with. Fantastically BBS and super smooth . I loved this shave and so did my wife (she's my litmus test).

(Sniff) well I was paid in advance you see Handsomely as it happens, with a big block of yew and some little billets of pewter, so I'm happy enough, and then there's the educational aspect.

As regards the stone, I don't suppose I'll find out what it is unless I turn up on Neil Miller's doorstep and demand an ID; it's glassy hard and I did wonder whether it might be an Idwal or something of that ilk. In this case it helped to use a narrower hone (1 1/2"). There's another mystery rock to come later this week, but I'm finished with honing for today.
