No Jeff,
most of the time I use mit Nikon-D300.
This little toy-camera I only use there, where big cameras are not allowed (e.g. Ice Hockey matches).

My niece--a student at the University of Alabama--was right in the middle of the monster storm and two tornadoes that ripped through Tuscaloosa, Alabama Wednesday evening. She escaped without any injuries, thank God, but the apartment complex she lives in was heavily damaged. Ha ha, well it certainly looks that way, doesn't it? I'm trying to clear a backlog at the moment, which is why there's been an interesting selection this week. No SOTD just yet, but here's some rough and ready snaps of the two new arrivals from Mikael, first a Bengall:
Don't know quite what to do for the best with this one, probably as little as possible, but the bloodstains will have to go. Love those stacked washers ... this one belongs in the Rustiques club, I think. The second is a bit of a mystery:
There's some nice detailing where the chamfers resolve into the point, not so easy to photograph though:
Again, my feeling is that less is more in terms of restoration. It's just the sort of blade which appeals to me; I'll have to see if I can find something in the meat cleaver line to return the favour one day.

Thanked: 1185Prep: Hot Shower, Baby Oil Gel
Razor: Boker Red Injun #102
Brush: VDH Boar
Soap: VDH Deluxe
AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Finish: Crusellas Colonia 1800 Sandalwood
Results: Simple as a brick, cheaper than rice and beans, but a great shave to start the weekend. Got to go get some Lab work done this morning. Gosh I hate going to the doctor. I love how they act like you've got nowhere to be and have all day to get there. I hope this isn't the case this morning. I'd like to be home from work at a reasonable hour, I've got beer that needs drinking. The older I get, the better I was

Soap: Proraso
Razor: Superior Razor in Ivory
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel

No shave for me today
Tom,
You flatter me. I am humbled by your words my friend. Thank you very much. I don't know what to say, except "Thank You"
Tom,
How many W&B do you have (just curious)? I love them all
Thank you Mikael
Otto,
What a beautiful "Italian Affair". I love it. Only if the brush was Italian too (like Acqua Di Parma or Acca Kappa), then you'd have a TIS (Total Italian Shave), LOL. Well done maestro
Béla,
First class is right. That Fili is one nice shaver. As are your other gear.
Birnando,
Lovely experiment my friend. I admit, I have done the two finisher thing as well from time to time. I found it to be overkill too. But hey, why not? It's fun...Does Chosera make higher grits than 10K?
Love that Palmera. She's a beauty. You're lucky I don't live near you buddy. I'd be there all the time, drooling over your collection, LOL
Lovely shot Mikael. I LOVE the DORKO. Yeap...Al's creme is uber by itself. No need to mix. I think I still need to tweak some of the Nanny's I have left to get a decent lather though.
+1
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Beautiful frameback Wosty Bill. How did you like the Manantiales?
OMG Monroe. I am very glad to hear that she's OK. This weather has been ripping through much of the mid-west has taken a toll on human life. It is sad to see. The folks in the tornado stricken areas have been in my wife and I's prayers.
Wowwwww. Nice ones Andy. Congratulations on a few nice grabs (and Kudos to Mikael). Holy cow. I would love to see what you end up doing with them. Good luck and looking forward to seeing them featured here soon
They almost always book 5-6 patients at the same time. I guess those docs never learned the basic principle in physics which states that "no two objects can occupy the same space at the same time" (well, unless you're in the quantum realm, LOL). Hope everything checks out, you get your clean bill of health and get home in time to pop that beer open. Enjoy it my friend. You deserve it.
Hey Grant,
Wedges don't mess around. They don't provide feedback for you to see how you like thing while you're shaving, LOL (like hollows like to do). They just get in there and do the cutting. No fuss, no mess, no discussion. That's my explanation of it at least, LOL
You need at least a couple more in your collection. As an enabler (if I may), Wacker makes a nice near wedge. Frederick Reynolds is another good one. Helje #41 (if you can find one), is a superb wedge (a pain to hone though), Wosty Celebrated IXL (used yesterday), albeit 1/4 to 1/2 hollow is one that like to act like a wedge. There's more (David's JR is another...see post below yours)
Beautiful Wedge David
Beautiful JA Noswad, but I must say that I am ready to move on from all the news about the Royal wedding, their dresses, hairdos, and all the hoopla, LOL
