Did some honing today. Worked on this W&B 6/8 i think its NOS. Love the look of this blade and nose of the spine. 3 passes to an awesome BBS shave. 2 passes only left a couple touchups spots.

Prep:Hot Shower
Scuttle:Dirty Bird Custom Double
Brush:TGN 24mm Premium A in Crimson Swirl
Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
Soap: Martin De Candre (Thanks Bill!)
Razor: Engelswerk (see restoration thread here for other razors done over the weekend)
After shave: Ogallala Bayrum, Cedar, & Sage
EDT: L'Occitane Vetyver
Honing progression: Norton 1k/4k/8k, Shoubudani Asagi slurry diluted to clear water, honed until stone was dry and then 20 laps dry.
Result:I had not shaved since Thursday and I travelled back home on Friday. It was a cool, rainy weekend, so I spent many hours working on razors in the garage. I found this beauty at an antique store with some staining, pitting, and general nastiness on the blade. I cleaned her up on the buffers with greaseless compound and put her in a pair of Purpleheart scales with a Zebrawood wedge. After 2 passes my face was BBS and devoid of the 3 days growth. I did a 3rd pass ATG just to test my honing for smoothness and comfort. I'm pleased to report that it passed with flying colors. The edge has just the right mix of sharpness and smoothness. I love it when a plan comes together!
Fantastic gear & photos on display already this week!
Have an excellent Monday gentlemen!
