I picked up this razor on B&B. The guy use the original wedge, whiched was warped causing the scale to bow inward. I made a new wedge to stop the blade from hitting the scale. I finished honing her up today. 1k shapton 4/8k norton, then i have been messing with an nagura slurry progression on a C12K finished off on a 16k shapton. I had qite a bit of growth. So she had her work ahead of her. She didnt melt them away but in 2 passes she delievered an awesome no irritation shave. Just a tiny touch up on my usual jaw line. Which has always been a troubled spot even for my Fili's. Im happy, Thinking this blade was made prob around 1850-1860 time frame, Thats my guess.

Thanked: 983Maxi, if you're directing that question at myself. I had a mirror but nowhere to hang it, so I went by feel and used the mirror to check for the spots that I may have missed. The area that needed more attention was close to the base of the neck. So all up I did pretty good without the mirror.
Like it was made for it mate. Given that the stable isn't the easiest place to shave in, nothing seems to be placed conveniently to hand for this purpose, I think it proved exceptional.

Last shave I believe was Thursday, I've got a new job with our Son in law. We are starting his new Glass Company up ! We've done an 11 window house and another one where we only changed out 8 windows, then we all spent the weekend at the Cedar Creek Lake House. Just got home a little while ago and had an amazing shave with the Wester Bros on my beard and a Gem Clog Proof on the noggin, I'm as smooth all over as the bellies of the Catfish we've been slaying this weekend !

Nice shave. First time for the La Toja Soap. The La Toja gives a really nice lather and has a nice aroma. The wife approved of the aroma.

Béla,
I guess my memory ain't what it used to be. My apologies for not remembering her. She's a beauty. The good side of memory loss is that one tends to look at everything as if they were the first, LOL
Oscar,
A beautiful combo for sure. How do you like the 2203?
Beautiful pictures Tom. Thanks for sharing your daily accounts. I feel like I am on vacation with you as well
Robert,
Welcome to SRP and SOTD...great first entry with that beautiful TZ. The EJ is a great smelling creme as well.
Bill,
That's a $1,000,000 shave my friend. Well done and beautiful Wosty
Matt,
You went QED too, eh? Great minds think alike, LOL...Gotta love that soap. The B&B version is the 218 + Sandalwood, right?
Tom,
What makes you think we are in Heaven? It may very well the "Other" place (wink, wink), LOOOOOL. Afterall, we are probably looked upon as "Whisker Terrorists", adept with extremely sharp objects...it just doesn't get any worse than that, LOL. Wherever we happen to be, great shave buddy.
Thanks Dom...the shave was even better than the look. This one is a keeper in my collection (BIG TIME).
Great score Rene. Nice job on the wedge too. Thanks for the kind words buddy.
Beautiful Sunday shave Teiste
José,
Super nice stuff. I love Floris #89.
You mean there will be another one, LOOOL? I am so there. Great shave though
Stable shave is very original thinking Mick. I love it.
Mark,
Congratulations on the new venture with the son-in-law. Sounds like a great shave too. But no sharing of the slain catfish? Not fair ... I am salivating thinking about a good ol' Louisiana/Texas style blackened catfish (Yummmmm!)
You too Jeff???? Another one bites the dust, LOOOOL. It is a great soap indeed. Congratulations. I see you have stained the bowl too (been there, done that myself). That cork-ish looking bowl tends to stain easily with water. Best to take out the soap, lather and put it back. This soap is now becoming mainstream everywhere. She certainly deserves the praise. Fabulous performer indeed.
