Razor: Boker, Griplus

This blade is sweet ... and sharp, Mr Nick payed me a visit when I was thinking of something else than the blade . Nothing serious though.

Buddel | D.R. Harris Almond | Chubby 2 | S.70 Bay Rum | SSS Fireside Intense
I guess I got lucky when I closed my eyes and picked this time, because my hand fell to a blade that worked its own miracle! I hadn't shaved since Friday morning, but the Buddel still left me nearly BBS in one pass; I could have put on a suit and gone to work without even doing a touch up, it was that good. Of course, what self-respecting man would stop with just one pass. I lathered up again, and gave it a second swipe just for fun!
What an incredible way to start the work week! Great shaves shared already, gentlemen! He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

The 2203 is really something else. It was a prototype Peter was playing with. The only difference between it and the 2201 is a slightly lower loft of 44mm.
Boy does a couple of millimeters make a BIG difference?
I thought I was getting great lather with MWF until I tried this wee brush!

Thanked: 1072Strop: A.H. ChristianHave a great day boys.
Brush: FS Finest Badger
Uber: Proraso, Faulding Cream + Glycerin
DE: Gillette Rocker with Feather blade for head
Razor: Geo Wostenholm 11/16
Astringent: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel
Balm: Nivea Replenishing
A/S: Wahl Bay Rum
I've been feeling a little tense today, so I thought a slow relaxing shave was in order.
I chose a blade that was going to make it easy for me and the Wosty has a wicked edge on it.
I was only planning on doing 2 passes, but when you have a big bowl of Uber, it's almost impossible not to go 3 passes.
The resulting BBS did the trick, feeling much better now.

Thanked: 33I've got a small stock of these Vintage Blues that I'm trying to use up. They are definitely not a favorite. Two shaves with a blade then it's toast. They are a little rough, but oddly I seem to have weird fondness for rougher blades ? To compare it to new blades, I'd say it's rough like a Merkur and sharp like a Derby. I would not recommend the blues, they can get the job done, but there's way better Vintage and new blades out there. Not the worst blade but not good.
That Merkur blade isn't even broken in yet. I've found that the Merkurs for me get better with use and are a very long lasting blade. Best shaves for me with a Merkur occur around the 4th-7th shave then they rapidly deteriorate.Last edited by newb; 05-23-2011 at 12:51 PM.
