The edge you put on that Wester just seems to get smoother with each use ! Three passes on a short beard, not just heavy stubble, and I had one fine shave brotha ! Actually I have a Smoke Hollow Electric Smoker, you just keep wood and water in it and set the temp, kick back and do whateva. We already had a pork ham "Hog" on there that one of the guys shot at the lease last week and we tossed some catfish fillets in there for an hour or so and it was delicious ! We do have a few 15" cast iron skillets we blackin food in "steaks, chicken, seafood," and some other things but had the smoker going already. Probably blackin some next weekend. I think the job is gonna be great !!! I've been doing plumbing the last 30+ years and to tell you the truth, I'm smooth burned out on it, I'll still plum for friends and maybe do a little here n there but were going to go full force with the glass company, its just me and Chris my SIL now and were gonna try to keep it that way for now. Thanks Buddy !

I think Syria should listen to this beautiful noise of the rotor blades.
    No picture, sorry.

Great photos Tom thanks. I'm sure it's been there for centuries but that stone roof looks a little scary to me

Glad you like the edge Mark...Yummm, the "food talk" is killin' me. Good thing I am full or I'd be getting on a plane headed your way, LOL. I am sure you and your SIL will be successful in your new venture. I'll know where to go if I need advice about glass now

Very very nice, the best straight shave so far. Much much more than 'presentable'.
Two passes and a couple of touch ups, timing was ok (around 20-25 minutes max.), redness as well less than the previous times.
I'm getting the hang of it pretty fast, and I like it. It offers a lot of flexibility and less irritation compared to using a DE (assuming the same 'beginners' technique).

Prep: Hot Shower, Razor: Shumate (Austin, TX.), Brush: Omega Boar, Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum Sage and Cedar, AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Finish: Ogallala Bay Rum Sage and Cedar Splash

Two things: 1. This was just a straight up Cowboy shave (thus the snuff can in the SOTD picture.) Texas razor, smell of sage in the air, I imagined myself walking out of the barbershop, jumping on my horse and heading for the open range. 2. This never ceases to amaze me about these old straight razors. I know for fact that this razor is at least 107 years old as Shumate relocated from Austin to St. Louis in 1904. Given that, I can't imagine that this razor shaved one iota better fresh out of the box than it did just a few minutes ago. It would sure be nice if it could be like that with people.
The older I get, the better I was
