I have the same feeling before I shave with my Iwasaki. Need to focus on shaving..no daydreaming or you get a rude wake up. :-)

Very nice razor Theseus...PS: are you going to polish/buff those pitted areas out or leave it as is? Either way, very nice.

I love that smell and wanted to get the EDT.

    Just beautiful B.
Let me wipe this drool off first. OK, done. I think I am going to start calling you the Custom-Meister (or CM for short). This is to reflect the fact that you are the only one I know that owns all the customs of this planet (well...almost)

    Robert,
Ain't that the truth? Although this Iwasaki is not as unforgiving as my other Kamisori. The Tosuke is out for blood (literally)

I'll eventually get around to gettind the pits out of it. Right now though I feel it's better to not mess with the edge while it's shaving so well.

    Hog,

According to my calendar everyday could be the end-of-the-world--at least this world--for me.

That's why I always end the day with a nice libation of distilled grape or grain products in recognition of living another day.

Hot Shower, Stephan's rubbed into my whiskers
    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    New Forest Badger Brush
    AOS Lavender Shave Cream
    Torrey, Barbers Notch
SRD felt and leather (a bunch)
    AOS Aluminum
    Stephan's Lavender
    Vaseline for men

First a quick refresh for the razor: a few laps on 12K Naniwa, then the Crox and stropped it for several minutes. The AOS Shave cream provided a great lather and as always the aroma was wonderful. I really like the aroma of Lavender.
The razor was really sharp and smooth. It really wiped the whiskers off my face smoothly. I really enjoyed the shave this evening.
