Well i planned to shave tonight. But after being home for less than an hour. We had a Tornado cross our street. I heard a loud noise and opened the door in time to see the tree across the street fall and people running. Then saw the twister move by my house about 10 houses away. Took 2 trees down and layed them across the street. Then about 1/2 later my sister was at my house because she has no way to get home. MANY MANY streets are closed and blocked by down in trees. Not sure how many twisters landed. Very happy to be safe. This is the first time i have ever heard of one landing here in this area. Crazy day! Shave tomorrow!

    Rene,

Whew! That's a close call. Glad to hear that you are safe.

In fact, your city and the tornado made the national news.

    Rene,

you might start thinking ahead and maybe cement your stash of razor somewhere in your basement. They can take the roof above your head, but they sure ain't going to get away with those razors.

All kidding aside, Glad you're OK. I was already in panic last week when I read about the damage in Springfield, but it turned out to be the other Springfield. Still my thoughts and strength goes out to anyone that got caught in those devastating disasters.

Rene, I've got experience growing up in tornado areas. You can send those Maxterpieces to me for safekeeping!

    Miguel,
Congratulations on this beautiful Maxterpiece. Like José's Viega, I had a pleasure of seeing this first hand and I can attest that the razor is more beautiful that any picture can convey. Enjoy her in good health

Stunning Teiste. Only if there was an alpha razor, then you would literally have a truly "divine" set (i.e., Alpha and Omega)

As usual, the W&B gave a superb shave and the beer was the reward for no nicks.
Welcome to SOTD (and SRP) J. Great to have you here. Fabulous shave and a wonderful reward.

Don't worry Jeff...In my limited experience, there's a lot of Voodoo in Honing. These things happen. I am sure the 3rd try will be the charm.

    Default Thursday

    Good morning.

Revisor 6/8 > Chubby 2 two band > Mitchell's > Floid > Bottega Verde Crema Viso > Miller Harris terre de bois

Don't know why, but my face hurts after using this razor. I know the technique is not there yet, but I suspect it must probably be too sharp for my level.
Now that I've done at least one shave with all my straights, I think a 5/8 or a 4/8 are the best for me at this stage. In addition, XTG is still very hard, in most areas.

The Bottega Verde moisturizer is a nice cream that contains shea butter and sweet almond milk. Bought it actually to use when I shave with a nice almond Italian soap. Pretty good for 10 Euros.

I'm happy too to read that you and your family are safe . I hope the damage of the tornado can be repaired. How small are us in front of nature
