Thanks, Frankie! I sure hope I stumble into some goodies while I'm there (perhaps some DC 1913 SC if I'm not too overcome by the wine and pasta)! I'm sure you will all keep the SOTD in fine form while I'm gone...

    Hi Konstantinos,
Personally, I don't think it's your technique or the blade. Not technique because this is the only blade whose use leads to the problem. It's not the blade either since Revisor are known to be fabulous shavers. I think it's the edge. It's either not sharp enough (leading you to use pressure or wrong angle) or it's too sharp or maybe has a burr. Either hone it up yourself (if you're comfortable) or have it honed up professionally.

That is a fabulous looking brush my friend. You are flaring my SBAD (Not a good thing, LOOOOL). I hope the sun shines on your day and your vegetable garden. Enjoy

Welcome back Tom. I had a great time on your vacation (really, I did). One vacation ends and another begins (i.e., Bill's European Vacation), but something tells me that we are not going to get the full immersion with this one, LOL.

    Sten,
Congratulations. Those are the kind of shaves that make our heads scratch. But analyze it too much and just enjoy the BBS feeling. Well done. And nice job on the WH concoction...we've got quite a talented few on SRP for sure.

Don't worry...Apprenticeship will happen in good time. Just keep having fun at what you do.

PS: Enjoy your time with your folks. Nothing more important in this world than family. They're the ties that bind.

If given enough product the Simpson Chubby 3 in Super Badger makes unbelivalble quantities of the finest lather. My face enjoyed both the super soft Chubby and the warm, soft lather, then I went to work with the Thiers-Issard. 3 passes today, including ATG gave me the perfect shave I always look for, especially when I have the day off. Finished with Fitjarsoap Neroli aftershave cream. Very good shave!
    Arild,
Congratulations on the BIG move. Beautiful den you're got there and I am envious of that shave. Fantastic in every way (from the gorgeous TI, all the way to the post shave "Ahhhh" feeling). Well done my friend. Enjoy your day off and gardening (that's also very relaxing)

I've rescaled (with a cheapo set from Superiorshave) and honed this Taylor, as the seller told me because there is no brand in this razor. It's a full hollow razor and it takes a nice edge with less honing than others. And it's a fantastic shaver. The Cella dries a bit for my taste and the scent it's not very pleasnt, as "Play-doh" paste.
Nice blade José. I actually like the color of those scales. I agree with your assessment of Cella's scent, but the performance for me is awesome. I usually mix mine with a creme that I like and has a nice scent. This gets rid of the scent problem, LOL

    Bill,
You hadn't used that razor in some time (I think). Great choice. Have an AMAZING time on your vacation. I wished you were staying a bit longer than a couple of days in Istanbul. That city has a lot to offer. You will definitely have a ton of fun in Rome, Tuscanny and Venice. Looking forward to hearing about your time when you get back (or during, if you get the chance)

    Be safe my friend.

Very nice Friodur Mikael and a great SOTD. What kind of Maxscales are those? They look acrylic...If so, it must be one of Max' earlier works (I don't think he uses acrylic anymore). Beautiful regardless.

Sorry, off topic guys, but I was checking videos of the Tornado stricken Springfield and found this:

Check out how the funnel cloud forms over the Connecticut river. That is one scary sight. 4 are confirmed dead...Count your blessings Rene.

No pics due to the absurd hour I was shaving. More importantly though, I dedicate today's most excellent shave to my lovely daughter, Jessica, who graduates high school today.

    Location: 91324
Prep: Hot Shower/Anthony's Sicilian Shave Oil (Bay Rum scent)
    Cream: Proraso (green tub)
Razor: Joseph Rodgers & Son's 5/8 spike tip
Post Shave: Alum block/Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel
    AS: TOBS No. 74

Results: BBS with only one minor touch up with the DE (I have an area on the right side of my neck where it appears the growth patterns cross, so addressing this with the SR is a little tricky). A wonderful shave to start a special day.

Some of my jewish friends told me in another forum:
... and next year in Jerusalem...
This is a 2000 years old prayer of the Jews.
Here you get some impressions of Jerusalem. I'm still preparing a web-gallery and will give you the link asap.

Thanks for the kind words buddy.
You are most welcome over here Robert. Plenty of days off over here, plus 5 weeks of paid vacation too!
For those over 60, there is even more.
Although I fear that your first winter over here might also be your last
No, not that we are gonna off you, but the temperatures can get a bit nippy during winter..

BTW, about your question yesterday, I'm afraid I can't remember from whom I got it. I'm gonna have to check back thru my eBay history to see if I can't figure it out. The pins are quite distinct on it, so you may very well be right.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

    Terrible video Robert.

But I realize you never drove an X5 at a german Autobahn.
The X5 is able to bring 220 km/h
