The surgery today was no biggie, so I went home as soon as the effects of the drugs wore off. More or less
And what a nice surprise the mailman had for me today
A new Custom. I like receiving parcels like this.

Razor: Buddel Custom, 8/8" Damascus steel. French Point. black and white Ebony scales and Mammoth ivory wedge.
Not my finest shave, but that has all to do with me and the after effects of being sedated. In honesty I'm still a bit tipsy... The tools performed wonderfully. This brand new Custom was a true pleasure to receive and use. Very fine craftsmanship, beautiful materials and great design. I look forward to trying this blade out when "sober"

Glad you back home safely. That truely is awesome. And to think you didnt even order this from him. It JUST SHOWED up unannounced. Hmmm.... That might be just as good of an excuse as my grand fathers razor.

Yes, it was indeed a miracle
One needs to apply all excuses available in this sport don't we?

    Wednesday Night

Allen & Son 6/8, Vulfix English Rose Cream, NF 2213, Alum, Blue Stratos AS

This razor was my experimental learning tool, bough to learn honing and never really was quite as sharp as I like. I found that I could get other razors sharper with my coticule, but I have a fondness for this thing and just keep going at it! My ongoing experimentation with using the Dragon Tongue hone as a finisher with oil has again yielded a brisker sharper edge. Sooner or later I'm going to have to polish and clean this one properly!
    Regards
    Nic

Hot Shower Burt's Bees rubbed into my whiskers.
    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Cella Shave Cream with glycerine
    Red Imp 133
    100 laps leather
    AOS Aluminum
    Thayer's Rose Petal
    Vaseline for men.

Ran this razor over the 12K and then did the .05 Crox. I am really liking the way the razors respond to the 12K and then Crox and stropping. If the Jnats do better than the 12K, I need to get one.
I had a great shave. During the shave I must have cut off a zit/pimple/blemish I did not know was there. Damn it bled pretty good for a while. Once it stopped it was hard to find what was bleeding.
One more day, then off for eleven. I could use some R&R.

    Enjoy the evening.

PS: How did your job interview go?
I thought it went great, and apparently so did the Boss. Unfortunately, I didn't have what he would have preferred for SQL experience so probably no dice but I'm still trying to talk him into it. I'm sure I can pick up enough of this stuff to be dangerous in short order. After all, it's only work and that I can do. I'm still haggling but it don't look good, probably no joy in mudville. Shame too, it would have been a way cool place to work. Oh well, I guess that's the advantage of looking for a job when you have one.

Yeah, I think the cat digs the sound of shaving. When I use a hollow ground and get that pronounced feedback (i.e. like velcro being separated) on every stroke of the razor he really seems to be totally focused on the sound. He never watched me or really expressed any interest in shaving but then when we moved to this place he watched me from the doorway for a week or two then moved onto the counter next to the sink for a closer look. He's done it daily every since.
