Hey Paul,
Glad to hear that you kept your ego from getting in the way of your "state of mind". You have good self control buddy. Good things come to those who wait. And I am certain that once you pick that straight up and steel meets face, it's going to be nirvana. That will be the SOTD of the day for sure and something I will not miss. Also good news on the healing part.
Thanks Amund...That's exactly how I use all my after shaves. I mix them with Trumper's moisturizer or other moisturizer. It really mitigates the bite of the AS and is extremely soothing and rewarding at the same time. I will have to give this 444 a try one of these days. Who sells it?
Ain't that the truth brother?
Thank you for the invite buddy..We got a little tied up with family events tonight ;-). MWF truly rocks, but I think there are some good soap that can equal MWF's performance. Tabac, Czech & Speake, MdC, La Toja to name a few.
Beautiful shave for this rainy day Tom. I wish we'd get some rain too in LA. I miss it.
Fabulous my friend, just fabulous.Last edited by BladeRunner001; 07-05-2011 at 02:51 PM.

Robert, only Vintage Scent sells 444 as far as I know. 444 Aftershave Balm - €3.95 : The Vintage Scent Co., Rare and Antique Products for Men But it's inexpensive, and the shipping from Portugal is quite cheap, and you can pick up a Semogue or two while you're at it

Razor: Veritable Delolme
Soap: Nannys Ice and a Slice
AS: Proraso

Very nice blade and you could read it like this: "De lol me", but it´s no joke, it has a very sharp edge . I´m off for a couple off days, up north, so no SOTDs for while.

Thanked: 1072Thats a truly beautiful Wacker. From the picture of the case, I thought it might be a Long Life 145. I have one that belonged to my Grandfather, but I've never seen any others on SRP. I decided to pull it out for tonights shave (Posts #64-66 on pg7 for those who dont know what we're talking about)
Thanks for noticing, someone come and rescue me from this madness
Thanks mate. Its one of my restorations, here's the resto thread.http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...t-acrylic.html

PREP: Hot shower w/ conditioner in the beard BRUSH: Simpsons Chubby 2 SOAP/CREAM: Martin de Candre Shaving Soap RAZOR: 8/8 Max Sprecher French Point in Mokume Gane STROP: Kanayama Cordovan #30000 TONER: Thayer's Lavender AS: Sabon EdT: Sigilli Athunis RESULT: I hadn't shaved since last Friday! The MdC felt so incredible as the luxurious Chubby massaged it into the whiskers. I took an extra bit of time this morning with this step and it paid off with a thick coating of lather that made my face look like it had doubled in volume. The Maxtom did it's incredible work with aplomb! After the first pass I was most decidedly BBS, but I had so much lather and was enjoying the luxury so much that I had to go for two more passes. I knew the Maxtom had done an unrivaled job when my ear to nose pass (which is normally my most delicate pas) was dead silent--there was no stubble to be found even by this most capable of razors! I rounded it out with some Sabon and the exquisite scent of Vetiver and Cedar! Man am I feeling good!!!

Strop: Illinois 835
Brush: FS Fine Badger
Soap: Proraso
Razor: Long Life 145 11/16
Astringent: Thayer's Cucumber W/H
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Menta
A/S: Old Spice
Just 2 passes tonight resulting in a Damn Fine Shave.
This razor is a family heirloom so its special for that reason, but it is also a fantastic shaver.
I'll make sure it gets passes on to the next generation one day.
I love the Bigelow balm, even though its the middle of winter here I couldn't resist it tonight.
A great mentholy shave for me.
Grant
