Post: #81RE: Shave of the day W/C Saturday 2 July

    Mysore sandalwood soap
    Merkur 34C-HD
    Astra Blade
    NF Finest Silvertip
    TOBS Sandalwood cream
    Alum
    TOBS Sandalwood Balm + Propolis
    TOBS Sandalwood Eau de cologne

Smooth shave, not used the Astra to many times before nice blade, one pass shave with minor touch up, I have a small cold sore just above my top lip , so I left that small area, till the end of the shave I finished with a disposable Bic then instanly binned it. overall a very enjoyable shave.

I'm slowly regaining the use of my foot, so today I took a bike ride for the first time in ages. What a great feeling

    Pre-Shave: A cold shower
Brush: Simpson Polo 12, 2 band Super Badger
Razor: J. Taviant, Lyon. Le Royal Russe, Frameback 8/8"
Strop: SRD premium IV, English Bridle
Soap/Cream: Fitjar East Indies Shaving Soap
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
    Astringent: Osma Alum
    After shave Balm: L'occitane Cade
    EdT: Domenico Caraceni 1913
Results: Frame-backs are a strange beast. I like the solid feeling and the tactile feedback of this thing. It took some time to find the right honing strokes and regimen on it, but once found it provided me with the sweetest of shaves. It will not be the last Frame-back I buy

    Pre-Shave: A warm shower
    Brush: Semogue Custom Boar
    Razor: Wostenholm Frameback
    Strop: Kanayama
    Soap/Cream: AlRaz's Bomb in Potomac
    Astringent: Thayer's Lavender
    After shave Balm: L'occitane Cade
    EdT: Dunhill 1934
Results: I didn't really have that much to shave this morning because the Maxtom did such an incredible job yesterday. But, I persevered! I whipped up some incredibly thick and wonderful smelling Potomac for a quick one-pass "cleanup" this morning. The Wostenholm performed flawlessly. I only needed one with the grain pass, but I did a little touch up with water only ATG and now I'm ready for court...

    Sprock 6/8 - NF2213 - Vulfix English Rose - Alum - Xeryus AS

The Sprock was an ebay win and arrived yesterday in pretty good condition. After a gentle polish and a quick honing it took a lovely edge which is certainly as sharp as any of my better razors.

Nice to see another Sprock--they seem to be kind of thin on the ground! I love my Sprock 6/8 that I bought in the classifieds here from Scipio. It's a terrific shaver, and Sprocks definitely win the "coolest tang stamp" award.
