    Tuesday 7/19/11

    Cattaraugus Cutlery 5/8
    Golden Nib Finest
    Lavanda s/c
    Thayers Cucumber WH w/ aloe
    Speick a/s
    Speick a/s balsam
    Acqua di Selva cologne

I have tried the Lavanda twice since I bought it and both times I have had difficulty building a decent lather. I put more on the brush after my initial attempt was getting me nowhere and even then all I got was a small amount of passable lather. I am very disappointed as it is not cheap and it will likely go on the list for the inevitable den reduction sale that looms in my future. Otherwise, the Cattaraugus Cutlery blade gave me a very good shave as do most New York and Pennsylvania blades. It gives me great pleasure knowing that these vintage blades were made 60 to 75 miles away from here.

    Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
    Brush: Omega Pure Badger
Razor:Bengall near wedge with horn scales
Strop: SRD Linen and Red Latigo
Creme: UBERLATHER of MWF/TOBS Sandalwood/6 drops of Glycerine
    Astringent Alum Bloc
    After Shave: Nivea
    Cologne: Trumpers Spanish Leather
Results: I spent several hours sanding the rust and grime off the blade of this ebay purchase. The blade isn't pretty but I got a nice, sharp edge on my Nortons last night. I got a BBS shave with no irritation after 3 passes. I wouldn't say she's perfect, but its my best effort yet with a wedge. I always assumed my beard would like wedges, but I think the more hollow the blade, the happier my skin it seems.

Cool Shower tonight with Stephan's Rubbed into my beard
    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Nancy Boy Cucumber SC/Glycerine
    New Forest Badger
Robert Williams 1/4 hollow Damascus in Ivory
    SRD P1 Strop 100 laps
    AOS Aluminum
    Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
    Vaseline for men

For the second time in as many nights, I used this razor. The shave was impeccable. The Nancy Boy Cucumber provides a nice aroma while shaving and the Bay Rum always is nice. I never post the Vaseline for men but I have to say I end every shave and shower with the stuff. My skin just absorbs it quickly and it leaves a soothing feeling. I highly recommend it for the "finisher."

    Enjoy the evening.

Tonight I was up against a substantial 2 1/2 day growth and this wedge is one of my favorites for such occasions. I decided to take my time and have a great shave, I did 3 very slow and precise passes.
Result: This was a phenomenal shave, I'm smoother than a baby's butt, with zero irritation.
Hope you all have equally great shaves today, and thanks for all the fantastic posts.

That's one of my favorites out of all your pics Grant! There's like 10 different "whites" in that shot.

On the contrary - I find it ravishing. I absolutely love the patina on both the horn and the tail.

DFS today. sorry I was late with the post but running around all day with life stuff! I'm still needing some more use with the Acca Kappa to see how I like it but the scent was different. Mossy addition to the La Toja.
