Post Week of July 17 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 25mm Custom Shavemac D01 Silvertip Badger (Bruyère Wood handle)
Razor: 15/16" Ernst Klopp "Spezial" worked back spine, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 20/65 (Torolf linen/Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: CarrieM "Bay Rum" Shave Creme + Ogallala "Bay Rum/Sweet Orange" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
Cologne: Ogallala "Bay Rum" EdC (Double Strength)
Results: I got this Klopp a couple of months back as an impulse purchase and she turned out to be more than meets the eye. I really love this razor 9especially at the price I snatched her from the Bay). I have not seen any other "Spezial" razors yet (so, this may be a rare breed). Heft is on the heavy side (~twice that of a similar sized blade) and the edge amazingly sharp and smooth. The Bay Rum was the order of the day and the this Shavemac was my first custom D01 brush from Bernd. She yet has to shed a single hair . All of these products converged harmoniously to deliver a super rewarding and enjoyable shave .

    Have a PHENOMENAL Tuesday guys.

    Mike,
What a nice save by Glen. Great shave too. I can certainly understand why you feel the way you do. Well done

Sounds like a 1st rate plan.

I never thought this would be even possible with stashes, LOL. Great shave though

Awesome Amund. Great honing regimen on a great razor. I believe that Japanese razors are rarely a gamble. All of the ones I have seen or tried or own are fantastic indeed. These guys know what they're doing. The funny thing is the men don't carry a lot of hair to shave, but they make amazing tools to deal with the problem.

    Thank you Sir!
    I actually loved it immediately.
I brought my wife with me when testing it, and I got a smile and a thumbs up. That sealed it
The soap performed superbly, very fine products indeed! IMO!

No pic today due to the fact that my computer is a piece of junk.

Razor: Wade & Butcher "The Celebrated Hollow Ground"
Brush: Jade and brass handled boar
Cream: Uber lather of Williams Mug Soap, Palmolive Lemon and glycerine.
AS: Thayers Lavender followed by English Leather.
Result: Amazing lather produced by the Williams/Palmolive combo. Nothing to say about the W&B except "WOW!!!". By now I should be used to the way this razor shaves, but each time I'm completely blown away. Plus the vintage English Leather is always a pleasure to use. I'm going to be sad when it's gone as the new stuf just doesn't have the same scent to me.

Have a great day and happy shaves!

Not a bad maiden voyage today with the old Wilkinson. Honed up the blade, table stropped, then hand stropped. A little tugging was experienced, it could use a little more time on the hones and strops. But overall a DFS, I think it may be worth investing some time in the blades to bring this old girl back to her glory.

    Great Shaves, Gentlemen.

    Morning Gentlemen

    Hard 7 mile run
    Hot shower
    AOS brush
Queen Charlotte Green Irish Tweed Soap
    Zaliel Cutlery Solingen blade
Styptic, alum, Min razor burn treatment
    Lab series after shave balm
    Aramis Devin Cologne

Not too bad. Used my own honed blade today. No question my SRD boker is sharper and smoother, but I'm getting better. I read that it takes 100 laps on the Chinese 12000 before paste and strop. I only did about 20. Back to the hones!

    Have a great day.
