    Default Special Shave

    Location: Coffs Harbour Australia
    Brush: FS Finest Badger
    Soap: Tabac
Razor: My Pa's GEM with GEM Blade
    Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
    A/S: Old Spice
I finally got my hands on some quality SE blades thanks to a couple of members here (Phatman & Sunbird) and for the first time got a decent shave from the GEM.
I thought a lot about Mark (Blugil) during this shave and to quote his last post here on SOTD,

I was really impressed with these blades, even better than I expected. The GEM, the Tabac, all performed superbly for a fantastic CBS.

Grant, I have a 1912 Gem razor that was my grandfathers. Still in the original box. Haven't had the courage to try it yet, but seeing yours gives me a little bump. I will have to polish the old girl up and give it a shot.

Definitely, do it, especially if its your Grandfathers. I'm sure you'll like it . The Gem feels a little awkward at first but it didnt take me long to get comfortable with it.
