Wednesday Early Morning Razor: Bassler 5/8 Roundpoint Inox Brush: Omega 81052 Boar Soap: Boots Shave Bowl Soap Post: Alum then Old Spice Whitewater AS More honing practice; stainless steel is somewhat harder, I knew that but this was the 1st time going from bevel to finish. In the end I used a crox strop to squeeze the last bit of sharp out of this razor and it was as sharp as when I got it. Great test shave Regards

Congratulations Bill! Excellent shave as well, those Budel Scales are brilliant!
+1 Michael, great to see you back and I hope you feel 100% soon!
Thanks Grant. You are correct, those scales are mine too. I really love "The Darkness" on display today, it is truly a work of art
Well done Chris! A fabulous tribute.

Razor: Puma 'My Darling'
I've posted this identical shave a couple of times, so no picture, to redundant. The thing is, I love this razor. Between it and my Genco's, W&B's and Challenges I'm beginning to discover my favorites. The Puma is definitely one of them, if not my overall favorite. It's getting to be pretty stiff competition.
I got a little hurried tonight, did the same thing last night, and ended up with razor burn again. I'm letting my angles get bad, shame on me! I've discovered cold water shaving, and just find it so much more enjoyable right now. It just feels better on these hot days.
I'll bet I revert come winter!
Happy shaves all!
Mike-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

Thanked: 13Yep, both are fine now. The kid's got a good appetite and fills her diapers like a pro.
That last part, I'm less excited about, to be honest...
I'm going to teach her about the almighty str8, so that when I'm too old and feeble to shave, I'll have someone to do it for me.
Sweet.

08-03-2011, 04:13 AM #167EXCELLENT Shaves and SOTDs brothers. It is simply nourishment for the soul
Kalerolf,
Don't you know that size does not matter, LOOOOOL? Great "little" razor
Birnando,
This AJ is quite a fine looker too. Nicely done
PS: Don't underestimate Pee-wee Herman, LOOOOOL
LOOOOOOOL.
No one said there were no side effects, LOOOOL. The Escher stone is one of the smoothest and best stones out there. Love the edges off of it.
Haaaaa...that's too funny Michael. Great to hear that there is such a strong bond between you and your sister. There's nothing that I wouldn't do for mine.
OMG...someone get a rope. Blasphemy, LOOOOOL. In all seriousness though, well done Paul. I think I am going to pull mine out tomorrow too. I have neglected mine for far to loooooooong.
Hey Tim,
Wonderful score...Looks like a lot can be had on Etsy. I have checked that site for Shampoo bars etc, but nothing that I purchased. Well done, but sorry about the disappointment with pre-shave oil. I am of the school of thought that believes that if you're lather is nice enough, there is absolutely no need for pre-shave treatments.
José,
That is a very nice razor my friend. I hope that the shot (which is equally beautiful) was not taken close to the ledge on the roof, LOOOOL
Chris,
I thought I recognized this shot...in fact, every time I thought of Amund lately, this is the photo that came to mind. What a wonderful sentiment and this has got to be recognized as one of best SOTDs in some time. it really hot home...thank you sharing and the reminder of how fragile life really is.
Beautiful razor Jeff, but I guess YMMV with Cella is appropriate here. I have had quite the opposite experience. It produces mounds of lather (thick and slick)...maybe the water?!
Oh man...that brings back tons of memories. Thanks for sharing Rum. Sounds and looks like an awesome time was had by all involved in the trip. My family and I (as kids and later as adults) have had the pleasure of visiting most of Europe, but I must say that Greece and the surrounding islands take the top spots...We had some of the most memorable moments there. I distinctly remember going oyster fishing (catch and eat).
...And of course, a FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC shave this must have been
Gorgeous Solgen Frank. The scales just pop
Are you serious? You must have eyes like an eagle...I still can't make that out.
Hmmmm. Max and I were just talking about this soap today.
Jack,
That Peerless looks pretty fearless my friend. Great shot too
Congrats on honing this beauty to the max Nic...Just a test shave though?
Mike,
No picture needed to convey the beauty of this shave/razor. Sorry about the razor burn though
Wishful thinking Jes, LOOOOOOL. You know what they say about the best laid plans, LOOOL.
