Thanks Robert, didnt post last week cause my wife and I were at Toronto for a convention. While my wife was at convention center I went to shop for shaving gear related stuff, found a couple of places(thanks to SRP people for hints) but bought nothing. When we came back this nice Japanese razor was waiting for me. WOW! Those JApanese westernstyle razor are fabulous!!!! I love them all.

    cheers

A great shave tonight. As Rene says, sticky smooth after 3 passes.
This razor is not for beginners, that tip is unforgiving and needs careful attention especially when passing the ear going down that sideburn area.
Picked up this new shaving bowl at a garage sale over the weekend for $1. Not that I need more, but I like it.
Thanks for all the posts and pics gentlemen

That is a SERIOUSLY beautiful razor, Grant. Wasn't this one of the ones you did, yourself? How do you store it?

I'm extremely jealous, btw. If you ever grow tired of her (which I'm sure you wont), she'll have a few offers of a new place to stay.

Post Week of July 31 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Rudy Vey w/TGN Grade A Silvertip Badger
Razor: 11/16" Dubl Duck "Special #1", Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 25/55 (HandAmerican "Old Dog" Rough leather / HandAmerican "Old Dog" Cordovan leather)
Überlather: RazoRock "Cacao" Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
Cologne: Creed "Green Irish Tweed" EdT
Results: I hadn't shaved with a Duck for some time now and decided to take the Special out for a spin today. A few laps around the HandAmerican strop really brought out the edge on this razor. The RazoRock "Cacao" was a scent I was craving today and she not only fulfilled my wish, but also produced an amazing lather in collaboration with Da Fat. It was so good that I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. All shaves should be this good . BBS and ready for whatever.

    Have a FANTASTIC Monday gentlemen.

Excellent EA...I have a cousin (dad's side) who travels to UAE once in a blue moon. I'll have him pick me up one of these weapon's grade fragrances when he goes there next.

Fantastic Mikael, but what do you mean she's not among your top 10? I would have hoped that she would make that distinct group (even top 5)

    Grant,
Now that's my kind of tip. Love that blade. Great work. Congrats on the bowl too.

Beautiful shot as always Robert, but an unusual razor.

I think that's the first of your razors I have seen that got any signs of wear or discoloration of any kind Good to see that you're "only human" after all

Interesting for sure, but prob not the best one. However my London water frenzy adventure forces me to funny ways. ARKO took over in this supe lather and even though good it's the MdC you want.

Yeah, well, I've got some mean razors, lol - on top of my head (with the right to add more razors) that tops the P G blade: The Three Crosses, Puma DD, Mappin & Webb, Roberts (prob late 18:th century), Revisor 8/8 and 6/8, Heljes no 6, B K 42 and frameback, W&B for barbers use, Henkotsu kamisori, Delolme french razor, Joh Engstrom, Filly DT 13, vintage Boker, Gotta 120 (not a looker, but boy what a nice shaver).
    sharp and BladeRunner001 like this.

    Default Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Razor: Wacker Antik 15/16
Honing Regimen: Chosera 1-5-10-Blue/Green Escher (Birnando, correct me if I'm wrong)
Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/English Bridle
    Soap/Cream: Palmolive Stick
    After shave: Brut
Results: At the meetup saturday I thought this was the perfect candidate to test Birnando's Choseras and Escher as I found the edge it was delivered with a bit too rough by my taste, I thought it wasn't that bad after a couple shaves, but when I then used my Friodur I had to admit that my first impression was correct. The escher finish was much better, probably the smoothest I have ever tried The first pass (WTG) was perfect +, and so was the second (XTG), until I came to my neck. I learned about a new move from Birnando and str8fencer I thought I'd try on a couple problem spots I have on my neck(I don't recall whath the move was called, guillotine or something like that I think), I tried it on the WTG pass, and it worked like a charm, but when trying ATG it did not! Several tiny nicks and quite a bit of irritation, maybe not the best idea I've had to try this on skin that still was a bit irritated from last shave I'll just have to let my face (neck) rest a couple days, and try again, hopefully it works better next time

Need help or tutoring? Check out the  .
