    Default Monday morning

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Bill's horn/Paua Abalone/Simpson knot
    Razor: The Three Crosses
    Soap: Provence Santé
    AS: Ogallalla, Limes and Peppercorns
    Strop: Neil Miller
    Result: Very, very clean indeed

How nice to be back in soft water land Everything was easier, even the way the blade moved over the face. I think hard water dulls the edges way faster too, my newly honed W&B seemed very dull compared to this blade, that has been around way longer. Well, enough whining about hard water, it's good to be home again

Well Mikael you should have packed your bags and made off for Wales, we have beautiful soft water in Wales, the one thing I miss is soft water when I go away, that awful scum that's left floating on top of the tea, and lime scale in the kettle, that cannot be doing you insides much good.

Razor: Joe Chandler 7/8 Spanish Point Damascus
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
Pre Shave: Hot shower with Conditioner in Beard
    Soap: Martin de Candre
    ASB: Sabon
    After Shave: Vintage Habit Rouge
    Fragrance: Habit Rouge EdP
Summary: Today is the first day of my new job. A special occasion calls for a very special blade - and I succeeded in finding that. I wasn't really intending to win this gorgeous custom when I sent the seller an offer. Funny how life works though, isn't it? He accepted and it was soon on its way. When it arrived, I was immediately taken by the attention to detail. The steel is beautifully figured, and the firework on the spine is echoed in the damascus wedge and even the third pin spacer! The blade arrived with two small dings acknowledged in the seller's ad, so she went straight away to the Choseras. The bevel was reset using the 1k with some slurry followed by trips around the 5k and 10k. She then got a light nagura progression on my Oozuku Suita (no su). The result was an edge fit for a king! This razor was so smooth that I almost didn't feel it doing anything as I tackled three days of growth. I was nearly BBS after the first pass, but with a razor this nice, how could I not do more. ATG was effortless and I am proud to say that I think I'll be the best shaved man in the office! It was all tapped off with some of Guerlain's wonderful Habit Rouge! If everyone's week starts off this great, the world will be a phenomenal place!

After a few less than stellar shaves last week, I really needed a set up that was going to make me happy for tonights shave.
I knew the Invicta could be trusted to satisfy me, and the perfect lather the MWF gave me made tonights shave a blissful one. 3 passes and I'm BBS for the first time in over a week.
The wife and kids are home now, so I'll be in a more normal routine this week, and not so negligent of my SOTD duties.
