Got this Dovo cream in today, I have to say it's excellent! Extremely dense stuff, more like a thick paste. Produces a fairly unusual lather, it likes to be quite thick, but it's very slick and dense. The Gotta isn't pretty, but one hell of a shaver! [/QUOTE]

    Blix,

ANY time you feel the urge to give away your "Ugly" razors feel free to PM me...lol. That razor has a beautiful patina which gives it a little character IMO.

Not a whole bunch to this shave but it was fabulous just the same. Felt like doing three passes this morning so guess what, that's what I did. Result-CBS

Hehe, I agree, the patina is nice, and I'm not planning on polishing it anytime soon!
I'll consider putting you in my will.

Thanks, Grant. Sadly, this one is not mine - unless it were to get "lost" in the mail when I send it back...

Default My very first DFS with a straight razor

Today was the first day I dared to go ATG with my razor which left me with a DFS shave - far from BBS, but non the less, I am very pleased. The decision was made right after a WTG pass - I was not planning to do ATG pass. I also earned a very first nick for as long as I can remember (I just felt my razor kind of "digged in the skin" and I stopped - upon a closer inspection I saw that the angle was wrong) and this was on the right side of my face on my mandibular arch - ATG on the left side of my face went almost effortlessly. Alum took care of that all right...
After the shave, I felt like I was in apnea for at least 5 minutes (who knows - maybe I was, I was literally holding my breath during most of the ATG phase ), but as I said before - I am satisfied with my shave.
Conclusion - I am thousands of light years far from a real straight shave BBS (I lack the technique), but I will not give up (after all, this was my fifth or sixth straight razor shave...)

    - Hot Shower + Alverde Men Waschgel mit Guaranaextrakt – Erfrishend,
    - A dab of Johnson's Baby Oil with Aloe Vera,
    - Semogue Owners Club Ash Wood,
    - Col. Conk Amber SS,
    - George Wostenholm & Son "Pipe Razor", 9/16, extra full hollow, singing, plum scales,
    - Bloc Osma,
    - Ralon Classic + 444 Para Depois de Barbear.
