Post Week of August 14 SOTD - Wednesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Razor: 11/16" C-Mon HF, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 25/40/45 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: Institut Karité Shave Creme + Institut Karité Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: Institut Karité ASB
    Cologne: Creed "Original Santal" EdT
Results: The mood today was for a little C-Mon here, a dab of Shavemac there, and some Shea butter thrown in the middle just for fun . After giving all my brushes a nice cleaning a couple of days ago, their performance has markedly improved. They retain moisture better and lead to better lather buildup (at least for me). This Shavemac performed marvelously with the IK combo. The lather literally exploded right out of the bowl and the prep was nothing short of fabulous . The C-Mon took her turn "mowing the lawn" so to speak and she loved playing in the snowy white cushion afforded by the IK/Shavemac duo. What a shave!!! As smooth and comfortable as one can possibly get.

    Have an EXTRAORDINARY Wednesday gentlemen.

PS: I do apologize for being a bit out of touch as of late. I do have a lot on my plate, but I do read every one of the shaves posted and enjoy them to the fullest.

PREP: Hot shower with face scrub
    RAZOR: Toyo Scheon Burg #666
HONING: Naniwas 1,5,8,12k, finished with Crox and Diamond pastes
    BRUSH: Rudy Vey Dark Chubby
    SOAP:Klar Seifen Sandalwood
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers Unscented
    ASB:Nivea Sensitive
    EDT: Carlo Corinto
    RESULTS: ONE FOR THE BOOKS
What a fantastic shave today. First off thanks to Rune and Telly for making it possible to receive this beauty of a razor. Honed her up last night, and after about 30 mins setting the bevel to perfection, the rest was just a breeze. I was rewarded with a fantastically smooth and irritation free shave. Another first was this Klar Seifen, which I picked up as a scratch and dent sale. This soap surprised me to say the least. The sandalwood scent is faint but pleasant, reminiscent of Trumpers but with a little tobacco note. But the lather, superb, great cushion, glide , and moisture, and is up there with my top 5 soaps, I might have to pick up a few more tubs . Sticky smooth, and to top it off antoher dose of CC Vetyver. AHhhhhhhhhh what a great day already.

    Beautiful Matt!

I am waiting patiently for my SB #666 to arrive! I have wanted this razor for so long!

...also, I see that you like the CC Vetyver! Glad you're getting good use out of it.

    Good evening friends

    Shave prep: Face wash
    Brush: Fonex boar brush
    Soap: MItchell's Wool Fat
    Scuttle: Robert Becker large
Razor: Wada & Butler, 5/8 smiling wedge
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
    After Shave Splash: Vetiver-Rose
Notes: I decided I needed a treat, so I got my trusted old Wada out. I love this razor, and it always performs for me. The huge brush whips up tons of lather in no time, and the scuttle holds my suds warm and cozy. For an extra treat I got out some newly mixed AS, first time I used it this evening. It's been sitting a month only but I've been so looking forward to it. I absolutely love it, and wife gave it top ratings so we're in the clear there. Nothing as soothing as a half hour or so in total peace in the shave cave.
