Nothing spectacular as a shave, possibly because I did not get the lather spot on again. I've acquired a few nice razors in the last few days so today's blade -although nothing wrong with it- may be out for sale soon...
@ Grant, Robert, et al.: thanks for the support, did not get the position in Oslo though. However I've applied for another, and should hear for this one soon plus the fact that the South Korea expat option is still work in process (I am in anticipation of a contract offer), all with my present employer.

Week of September 11 SOTD - Thursday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger Razor: 8/8" DORKO, Full Hollow Ground, Round Point Honing (touch up) Regimen: Shapton Pro 5k/12k + Maruichi Nakayama Kiita w/ tomonagura progression Strop: 0/0/0 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather) Überlather: Tabac Shave Creme + Tabac Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS After Shave Balm: Tabac ASB Cologne: Tabac EdT Results: Server's back up and running it seems. Another TABAC-olicious day today. Wat can I say/ i was in the mood . The DORKO still retained a great bevel but definitely needed a quick touch up. So last night, I decided to use my Shapton 5k/8k to refresh her edge and take her to the Kiita finisher. Although a nice and soft stone, this JNat leaves nothing to chance. Before I knew it, the DORKO was just popping hairs before they touched the edge...yeap, it was that sharp . Now, that's what I call the "Hanging Hair Test" . Sharpness aside, the shave was marvelously smooth...With zero pressure throughout the shave, this blade was operating on automatic mode. I was just leading her where I needed her to be (basically a useless tool ). I face the world today with a BIG smile on my face .
Have a MARVELOUS Thursday gentlemen .

Great shaves that I missed gents. Well done my friends
Konstantinos: Sorry about Oslo buddy...Keep a chin up. Things will turn around. You at least have option in the mix
Mikael: I am sure the brush will definitely perform as expected.

FWIW, here's my shave today sans picture due to not knowing what was going on with SRP.
Razor: F.W. Engels Special
Brush: Rooney pure badger
Cream: Godrej
AS: Thayers Lavender and Clubman original
Result: always a winning combination with the Engels and the Godrej. Still presentable 14 hours later. So glad SRP is back up. Felt kind of lost without my daily dose of razor porn.

Some friends have a visitor from Australia and have asked me to dive them to the Khor Al Udeid (Inland Sea, on the border with saudi)
So quick 2 passes, early gym, looking forward to a nice day driving over sand dunes and swimming.
Out to dinner this evening, so probably have a second shave.

Locale: The place that makes whiskers nervous Music: Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes Live at the Greek prep: Hot shower / Goats Milk Soap Strop: Star Chestnut 50 felt / 75 Leather Brush: Whipped Dog 20mm Silvertip Uber: Tabac Razor: 6/8 Puma "My Darling" Post: Ali Baliki Alum - Humphrey's Alcohol Free Face Toner AS: English Leather EDT: Stetson Result:Missed the place while the server was down. I was almost in SOTD deprivation. I have many people to thank for this shave. Larry, Roy, Glenn, Don, my Wife Delana, my son Aaron. All are responsible for the individual pieces here. I realized that a lot of folks are part of the process. This hobby has expanded my social interaction to a whole new level. I guess I'm just saying I appreciate you all!! Thanks for caring about me.
(no picture today, just being cautious)
Happy Shaves!!!!
Mike-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --
