Post Week of September 18 SOTD - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Saville Row 3326 Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 6/8" Wyeth "Trade Mark Warranted", 1/2 Hollow (stiff) Ground, Round Point (w/ Bone Linen Micarta scales + Black Paper Micarta wedge)
Honing Regimen: Chosera 1k, 2k, 5k, 10k + Maruichi Nakayama Kiita/Asagi Hybrid JNat w/ Tomonagura slurry progression/dilution to water only + 5 (very light pressure) laps on CrOx on leather strop.
Strop: 0/30/15 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: RazoRock "Cacao" Shave Creme + Cella Crema da Barba Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: RazorRock AS Wax
    Cologne: Creed "Original Vetiver" EdT
Results: A "later than usual" shave today. I received three birthday presents from Max yesterday and this Wyeth is one of them . I won her in "pristine condition" on eBay for little to nothing and sent her to Max who dressed her in beautiful bone linen micarta scales. She is a 1/2 hollow (stiff grind) blade. During honing, she felt and behaved more like a wedge than a hollow. It took a little longer than usual, but by the time I got done with her, she was popping hairs with reckless abandon. The exercise reminded me of my Helje 41 (tough steel that one). The RazoRock/Cella combination was super delicious with a wonderfully fragrant "cacao" scent and equally matching lather. I was CBS in 3 passes and loving it. Can't wait for tomorrow's shave.

Have a NICE & RELAXING Saturday gentlemen .

One damn fine 100th straight razor shave! Figured I'd do it with what I started with, a 5/8 razor.
The Flaschner came decently honed, but I'm spoiled. Reset the bevel on the trusty Chosera 1k, then through my usual progression of Shapton GS's. A few laps on the strop and it was ready to go. Pretty happy with my honing now, getting sharp and smooth edges right off the Shapton 16k.
100 shaves down, and it's been a blast so far!

Another excellent shave with my John Curtin "Invincible" razor! Headed out to catch a movie with my lovely bride...a rare occasion with 5 kids :\
Today my nose is working and I could enjoy the Spanish Fig & Nutmeg shaving soap. Have a great weekend guys!

Prep: 5 mile run, lukewarm shower
Razor: J Wiss and Son's Cosmo (fresh off the stone)
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: VDH Deluxe
    AS: Corn Huskers Lotion
    Finish: Brute Cologne

Great Shave! A quick turn on the stone took care of yesterday's muddy edge. A great "all American" shave.
