    Thursday

Razors: 6/8 JM Schmid & Son; Merkur Futur
    Blade: Astra (5)
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Institut Karite
    A/S: Old Spice

Probably my best straight shave thus far! Three passes with the JM Schmid followed by a partial pass with the polished chrome Futur to smooth out the few areas I didn't quite get with the straight (mostly at the bottom of my neck). Using the Futur for that part of the shave reminded me why it's my favorite DE: it provides such an effortless shave (for me) and get so close! I would class today's shave as a BBS shave for sure! Following up the shave with witch hazel then Old Spice was a great way to start the day!

    Default Thursday

    Pre-Shave: A shower
Brush: Taylor of Old Bond street, 30mm Silver tip
    Razor:Alex Jacques Damascus custom
Head-shaver: Feather stainless DE with Yellow Gillette's
Strop: SRD Premium IV, English bridle
    Soap/Cream: DR Harris, Arlington
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
Astringent: Osma Alum, rinse, Thayer's Medicated SuperHazel
After shave Balm: DR Harris, Arlington
    EdT: DR Harris, Arlington
Results: One of my very first Damascus steeled razors. This one is very special to me. It was shown by the maker at one of the meet ups over in the US. That made it my SRP razor so to speak. Arlington did the deed as per usual. A fine shave!

Post Week of October 9 SOTD - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 23mm Simpson "Chubby 2", 2-band Super Badger
Maxterpiece: 6/8" Wade & Butcher "Original Bow", 1/4 Hollow Ground, Spike Point (w/ Faux Tortoise scales)
Honing (refresh) Regimen: Finished with 7 (light) laps on CrOx on sanded SRD Premium IV Bridle leather
Strop: 0/50 laps (Torolf Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: AOS "Lavender" Shave Creme + SRD "Lavender" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
    After Shave Balm: Sabon creme
Cologne: Acca Kappa "Blue Lavender" EdT
Results: Took out my other Bow for a trip down memory lane. This and my DD Goldedge were my first Maxterpieces. She is a beautiful shaver. Smooth as butter. The SRD/AOS lavender combination not only provided a heavenly lather, but an equally divine and aromatic scent. What a shave. I love it when everything just clicks. BBS all the way baby!!! Now, only if I can stop faceturbating, I could get my head in the game and start my work .

    Have a TERRIFIC Thursday gentlemen.

That is indeed 'down memory lane'. I remember that Bow. Time sure flies.

[quote]What a super shave Joe. It goes to strengthen the notion that size ain't everything. How's the scent of the SRD Vanilla? I need to get myself two things; (1) an unscented creme, and (2) an unscented soap. I wished Al made the creme, but he said that would be custom [quote]

Robert, the SRD Vanilla is nice, just a tad sweet for me but very subtly. I really love their Vetiver though. Could I recommend the AOS unscented creme? I use it regularly and really like it for Ubers.

    Razor:Bismark
    Brush:Jade and brass handled boar
    Cream:Palmolive Lemon
    AS:Thayers Lavender and Clubman original
Result:Time to take the Bismark to the hones to touch it up.While it was a good 3 pass BBS with no irritation, the edge was not quite where I know it can be.Other than that, great shave.
