    Thursday Very Early Morning

Seehund 5/8, NF2213, GFT Sandalwood, Alum, Old Spice Whitewater

Well it was a little annoying, I messed up the lather for the 1st pass (too dry) not sure how I managed that with a Trumpers product but I did. The Seehund had come fresh off the coticule with an experimental 60 finishing laps on mineral oil. The shave was excellent despite the poor lather so the honing must have been spot on.
    Regards
    Nic

Test shave today. When i recieved this Fontana the scales were warped. I rescaled it a few weekends ago. Only one pass, not feeling well and the edge need to go back to the stones. I should have listened to my gut and kept honing her.
Oh well i will be able to shave sooner.

Ouuuuch Mikael...Sorry to hear it, but when Mr. Nick calls calling, you know you've been doing something wrong, . it's better not to shave than shave in a hurry. Great gear though

Welcome to SOTD jrabi...Lovely shave and gear. That's a tiny razor for sure and the Arko...well, that's a beautiful soap (hold the scent)

Didn't you get the memo? It is illegal,

Today was my 1st experience with the Xpec products. Feel like my lather needed A LOT more water, but I fully own that one. Love the scent of the ASB. Shaved after the wife left for work so I'm going to have to wait to till tonight to get her scent "verdict".
A heartfelt welcome to SOTD Rygbysh9...So, you're another of in the XPEC camp, eh? Sounds like good stuff indeed.

    Hey Nic,
Sorry about the lather buddy, but That's the first I ever heard of mineral oil on the Coticule...I thought these are water stones, not oil. Did the oil clean up nicely after the honing. Congrats buddy. Great experiment. Gotta try it at some point (when I am certain that oil won't mess with the stone)

    Rene,
Sorry to hear about the edge on this beauty. Congrats on the score though. You're spot on...She should take on a very nice edge, just spend the time on the 1k and the rest will fall into place.

    Bye Bye Movember
Pre-Shave: Hot shower with Real Shaving Exfoliating Scrub
Brush: Bryce C 24mm Ironwood Silvertip
    Razor: Dovo 6/8 Ironwood
Strop: 30/60 SRD 3" Black Latigo
Lather: Real Shaving Moisturizing Save Cream
    Astringent: Alum & Witch Hazel
    ASB: Real Shaving Moisturizing ASB
    Cologne: DR Harris Marlborough
Comments: The edge on this was another test, as it had a small chip which Maxi honed out over the weekend. I've been testing Norton 8k finishes this week and so far, so good. This razor mowed down the mo' without too many issues. I'll get a photo up soon! A touch of burn along the jawline, but is that technique, the lather, or sensitivity to the edge? The Noob Chronicle will explore this, likely some time tomorrow. Until then, have a great evening, SOTD Brothers!
