    Thumbs up

    SOTD 11-28-11 SRP
Razor: BB ~ 6/8 french point monkey tail in horn
    Strop: Tony Miller Tri-Strop
    Brush: Franks Finest Badger
Soap: Lea ~ still my all time favorite
    ~SRD scuttle~
Moisturizer: Ahava ~ if have never tried it you MUST!

Well, this was my second shave with the BB & it is now my favorite. I went right to a moisturizer tonight with no 444 block or Aftershave. It was just that smooth a shave. One of my top 3 shaves of all time. Brian created an amazing razor & it is a privilege to own it.

Prep: 3 mile run, long hot shower
    Razor: Boker Red Injun #102
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    AS: Aloe Vera Gel
    Finish: Aqua Velva Classic

It was well past midnight when I did this shave so I'm not sure if this is a night shave or a really early morning shave. At any case, I haven't been to bed yet so I guess this is a night shave. The out and back to Navarre this weekend wiped me out. I've just been tired and good for nothing most of the day. I finally talked myself into going to the gym about 10 P.M. and that made me feel a bit better. The shave was fantastic as the razor was fresh off the hone. CBS in two passes. Anyway, a quick beer and then a quick nap before work. Aloha

PS: You guys with the Kamisoris are going to taunt me and torment me until I buy one. That video just looked like great fun. Well done indeed.

A good edge with take the whiskers off just fine, but not BBS (you can't see them but you can feel them); a GREAT edge will take them off and it will be BBS. Specifically the hair under my lower lip has become my "Test shave" indicator YMMV. I normally don't push for the BBS in this area though as Grant mentioned, the skin in this area is very sensitive. More times than not, if I'm not getting good results here, It's back to the hones (give your technique a chance to develop on the chin area though, you'll be amazed what angles work here).

Thanks for the reply, Glenn. Today's shave with the W&B was better, the Tornblom is way too light and thin to do a lot of ATG with, I've decided, and maybe as you say the edge needs work. I'll also take Baldy's advice and won't push it, I'd rather be non BBS and without a cut or nick, it's not like anyone actually feels my face apart from me! Then again, it's only early days in regard to me shaving my chin. I won't be losing the moustache or 'soul patch' (hair under my lower lip) so may never get to try out that area!

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Semogue SOC two band
Razors: Hibbard, Spencer + Crown and Eagle
    Soap: Nannys french Lavender
    AS: Bayrum
    Strops: Neil Miller
    Result: Uberclean

I'm still learning to hone on my Choseras and these two razors has been the two sharpest to come off them, so far . The Crown & Eagle popped my wifes thick hair just by gently tapping them against the edge and the Hibbard was a soild HHT3. Shaving wise I liked the Hibbart razor best, even though I like my edges sharp. Strangely enough the edge on the C&S didn't stay extremely sharp, after stropping it was roughly the same as on the Hibbard.

Does it read: "RUQUOIS" on the Hibbard blade, or something else and what does it mean?

    Flaschner 7/8 | Semogue 2010 LE #66 | XPec | Thayers Lvender | Sabon | XPec

I understand why people rave about this soap (Creme). I have no idea what it was like in its earlier incantation, but this new stuff is incredible. It has a wonderful, complex scent and lathers like absolutely crazy. Just a small amount in the bowl, and it immediately exploded. And people are right that it will take an insane amount of water. I accidentally added way more than I intended at one point, and it took all of it and spit out more luxurious lather!

I hadn't shaved since Wednesday, and the Flaschner wiped my face clean as if there was no stubble there. I was near BBS in one pass, and all the way there after two! What a great way to start the week!

Prep: Hot Showere / Proraso pre-post creme
    Brush: AOS Pure Badger
Soapreme: Cade SS / AOS SC / glycerin Uberliciuos
Razor: Wade & Butcher 13/16" Hollow ground
Post: Proraso AS / AOS ASB unscented
Result: I could never figure out why everyone raved about the W&B's, but found one at a local antique store that I could not resist. This is the largest razor I have currently, but I was surprised at the perfect balance it had. Oh yeah, and the shave, the shave was Fantastic! BBS with the blade doing all the work.
