    Mike,
+1 to what Omega said. Use this as an opportunity to regroup and look for new paths. Make the best out of a bad thing. Good luck to you.

    Mike,

Having recently been through this same thing, I wish you all the luck in the world. Keep a positive attitude and you can turn this around to something positive!

    Back To Work
Prep: Hot Shower with Real Shaving Exfoliating Scrub
Razor: Yama-Masa Kamisori (semi-rescued by Nagakichi Kamisori)
Brush: Bryce C 24mm Silvertip Ironwood
    Scuttle: Robert Becker #9 Black
Strop: 25/50 SRD Webbing/episaacs homemade 'roo
    Lather: T&H Trafalgar
    Astringent: Witch Hazel
    ASB: T&H Trafalgar
    Cologne: T&H Trafalgar
Comments: I still haven't had the time to sit and get on the hones for JaNorton, though the night is still young. I had this Yama-Masa kamisori that I've been meaning to test for a while, so today was the day. Well, either I don't have the knack for a kamisori yet, or this one needs to be honed properly, because it wasn't nice. The Nagakichi sort of saved the shave, though my ingrown problem on the neck reared its ugly head. Too bad, because the Trafalgar is such a sweet product line. Oh well, I'm still learning! Anyway, I'll be hitting the hones tonight or tomorrow and then it's JaNorton time. I'm already working on updated The Noob Chronicle with my neck woes and kamisori foibles. Happy shaving, my SOTD Brothers!

    Default SOTD -- 1.3.2012

    Semogue 620 | Palmolive (Euro) | Muhle R41 (2011) - Bolzano | Alum | Sabon Cream | Sigilli Athunis

I am starting to love the Palmolive soap. I have to rank it up there as one of the best. In three shaves, this Muhle R41 has grown on me. It is not for the faint of heart at all, but I really enjoyed this shave with it.

    Mike,

I'm sorry to hear that news. Happened to me twice a few years ago, each time I managed to find work that was much better than I had previously. I praying that something good will find you.

    Default Wednesday

    Good Morning,

    Prep: Shower
    Strop: SRD Premium 1 Leather, 30, 70
    Brush: TOBS , Silvertip
Soap: Neils Yard Remedies shave soap, Cella Crema Sapone
    Razor: Dovo Master's
    AS: Old Spice Whitewater.

I purchased the shave soap in London, it got mixed with the Cella by virtue of the fact that it was smaller than my bowl, so I filled the space around it with Cella. Anyway, it all made a good lather.

I just went with a quick 2 pass shave today, very presentable.

I'm using this Dovo more and more, mainly because it's stainless and I'm relaxed about not oiling it etc etc after I've shaved. (poor excuse, saves me about 30 seconds )

    Have a Great Day
