    Monday

You know, one of the benefits of JaNorton was that it sort of forced me to use only two razors, and I’ve actually used the Klas Törnblom a lot more than I otherwise would. I like it more and more as I use it more and more. If it were a 6/8 with a nice heel it would be better, though. I’ve got a bit of a problem with rust starting in the pivot, I dipped the pivot in Eucalyptus oil for a few seconds this morning, and this afternoon after work when I came to take the photo there was evidence of a blackish ‘sludge’. I may need to use some more RP7. I won’t take it apart, I’ll end up wrecking it, may need to get some help if it continues to be a problem it’s such a nice razor with such nice scales it’d be a pity to see any degradation.

The shave was excellent, maybe a 16k Shapton touch up post January? I’m very much liking the C O Bigelow cream…

    Razor: Klas Törnblom
    Pre Shave: Proraso
    Cream: C O Bigelow
    ASB: None
After Shave: Pinaud Clubman and Burberry ‘The Beat’ Eau de Toilette

Prep: Long, Very Hot Shower (that's not code for anything it was just a long hot shower)
Razor: Wm Elliot and Co. (the second razor in a recent Flea Market Score)
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: VDH Deluxe
    AS: Aloe Vera Gel
    Finish: Pinaud Clubman

For me at least, several tweaks of a new razor are generally required after the intial clean up and hone (i.e. that edge is pretty good but not quite as crisp as I'd like it.) On this razor, no such tweaks will be required. The edge is scary sharp and my standard two pass shave left my face five-year-old girl smooth. I'll give it a couple more shaves this week and a final exam on Saturday with 2 days growth but if today's shave is any indication none of that will be any problem at all for this razor.
