    Tuesday, I believe it is…
Yet it feels like Thursday, or even a day with no name at all, before anyone thought to name a day; as if any day is like any other in any way. They should have remained un-named; each unique as its own; like the passing flashes of light you see off a chromed, 50s side mirror while barrelling along a straight-as-an-arrow highway through an open plain and then winding up through the formations and mesas and rocks to climb to the pine-wooded hills and then rugged mountain side (where the dew falls from the sky like a misty cloud of nice)…

I was reading about the Burrell razor on another thread which showed a photo suggesting they were Army issue. I think they match that idea very well.

I also think today's 1940’s celluloid and brass cufflinks match the cufflinks and era. These cufflinks are odd, really. Very cheaply made, they are hollow; very light, with very thin brass. They have pictures of a beagle painted on them, or stamped. There’s whole sets of these out there; some just slightly different in design, all picturing dogs. I’ve got three or four. I think they polish up nicely, and are a little quirky and different; these I wore with a Cambridge blue 2 ply Egyptian cotton shirt made in India (the Indians make nice shirts).

I carried a Swan fountain pen that was made in England in the 50’s. It has a flexible 14ct nib that makes taking 30 seconds to scrawl one’s signature on a form a logical action.

It was threatening to rain (misty, really), which annoyed me, as I didn’t actually have the occasion to carry my black umbrella.

Coffee, being created by combining Ethiopian beans ground in a vintage grinder this morning with hot water, a plunger and a fine bone china teacup and saucer featuring bluebells, placated.

Oh, I shaved today. It was nice.

    Razor: Burrell Top Flight
    Pre Shave: Proraso
    Cream: La Toja
    ASB: None
    After Shave: Dominica Bay Rum
Cufflinks of the Day : 1940’s Brass and printed celluloid, Beagle portrait

I got a bad cold at the start of February and spent a bunch of time in bed. That being said, I've missed you guys and plan on being back as often as possible. I saw Grant's post earlier today and decided that today was the perfect day for re-entry to the SOTD. I've got about 1.5 months worth of SOTD to catch up on! Thanks Gentlemen!!!
    Glenn,

Hope you are feeling better. 1.5 months is a lot of reading!!!!!!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so...

He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.
