Prep: Hot Shower / Very Hot Water Soak / Hot pre-shave oil rub
    Razor: 8/8 1/2 Hollow Westonton & Sons
    Hones: CrOx Paddle 20 laps / Diamond Felt 20 laps / 3" Big Daddy Felt/Chestnut 75/200 each
    Brush: 24mm Silvertip C/O Whippeddog
Uber: TOBS Eton College in a Salvaged giant mixing bowl from a Restaurant
AS: Alum Block Then Humphrey's Witch Hazel followed by OBR Sandalwood
    Edc: OBR Cologne
Result: This razor came to me shave ready and had a VERY good edge on it courtesy of Rene. After I have used it a half dozen times I decided to refresh the edge just a little with my CrOx and Diamond paddles. For the size and heft of this razor it is an AMAZINGLY great shaver. By far the largest I have ever shaved with. I barely had any stubble due to so many newly honed razors this week, but I could not pass this baby up. It truly left me CBS in 2 passes with no irritation, pull or tugging. Thanks Rene, you are a good man!!!

It feels great to get a comfortable shave from a good edge after struggling with my poor honing efforts for a while. Tonight's shave was pure luxury. I have updated http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...tml#post920667 with my latest misadventures. Happy shaving, my SOTD brothers!

Hey SOTD brothers this shave is actually from EARLY...like 530am EARLY......this morning! I picked up this razor and it came in the same day as the Heljestrand i posted on sunday so this razor had to wait in line but it finally got its day so here goes.....

    PREP:
    Hot Shower followed by Proraso
    SOAP:
CF Lime....its been awhile since i have used this and don't know why i really love it!
    BRUSH:
    Capshaw Custom Silvertip
    SCUTTLE:
    G5
    STROP:
Tony Miller No. 2 Barber Cut
    RAZOR:
BB 7/8" Spanish Point in Black Horn....i got this razor from a member of another site and after purchasing it got a PM from Brian saying that this was the 5th razor he had ever made and to let him know how it was or if i had any problems...Well after the first shave with it i must say it is a really great blade! It needs a bit of a touch up which shouldn't be a big deal but wanted to try it our before i took it to my Swaty...I am very glad i pulled the trigger on buying this razor especially since it has a LOT of the thins i like, Spanish Point & Thumb Notch & Angled Wedge end!!!! PLUS a really great price!
    POST:
Tepid Water, Alum, Cold Water, Thayer's, AoS Lavender Balm (some irritation from blade needing a slight tough up) Clubman Splash...OH and a Dogfish Head 120minute IPA!!
    MUSIC:
Anais Mitchell "Hadestown" i really dig this album and it is definitely worth the listen!

So all in all a DFS with a beautiful razor!

    Friday

Was off to the doctor’s to be prescribed blood pressure tablets for the first time in my earthly existence phase. I believe that means one can official count one’s self among the old.

Today’s shave was with the W&B. Loved it, so smooth. Two passes, one WTG and one entire face ATG. The W&B didn’t even hesitate even on those troublesome under the chin hairs. The O Melhor did a great job, yet I haven’t been able to generate the lather I first made with this cream. I used Proraso Liquid Cream AS only afterwards; I needed just a little oil on the skin.

Cufflinks of the day are, I believe, ‘Victorian ‘mourning’ cufflinks, the cufflinks I’d envisage Johnny Cash or Nick Cave wearing.

Had to drag a dead kangaroo off the road this morning on the way to work. Some bastard had run over it and several cars just continued on their merry little way ahead of me. I stopped a little way up and walked back and dragged him off the road by his tail. Heavy little buggers they are…

PS, Love this black paper I got from the stationery shop I’m using for the background on the kitchen table. I just curve it up against a chair back. I’m also loving GIMP as a photo editing app, esp the lighting effects (lens flare) as you can see from my last few photos….

    Razor: W&B
    Pre Shave:Proraso
    Shaving Cream: O Melhor
ASB: Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave
    After Shave: None
    Eau de Toilette : None
Cufflinks of the Day : Nickle Victorian ‘Mourning’ cufflinks, I believe…
